Engines get hot when you drive a car?

Seriously though, what does the temperature gauge say? normally it should be just under half way.

What does the temperature gauge say? have you checked the coolant? how much is there & what colour is it?

If its low, top it up, water will do, but coolant is better, you can pick up a 4l? bottle of premixed stuff from any car store for about $5

If its taking 2 hours to cool down that doesn't seem good..

check if your temp gauge is working properly... for now just keep an eye on how long it takes to get to half way when you start it up in the morning & drive at a steady pace , try to keep the revs fairly low until its warmed up..

The more oil and water you have in it the greater the mass so the longer it will take to cool down, thats asuming it is at the normal operating temp when you switch it off.

I've got those thermal-block gaskets from RPW that i still haven't fitted yet. Interested to see how much of a difference that'll make.

This thread serious is a joke!

Its called heat soak, once everything stops your engine will heat up more as the internal head of the engine would slowly soak to the outside.

How is it related to coolant or oil? If anything the oil and coolant would be cooler than most internals.

How can it be a fault, it the engine bascially it no doing anything????

Think about it, if your car is not overheating dont worry about it. How can a hot engine to touch 5 hours later be a fault??????????????? Seriously think about it.

i think the shut down was really aimed at those of us that tried to help (we all just assumed that something was wrong, when there's nothing wrong), rather than at u lol
