has anyone changed the fuek fikter in there fto i want to change mine and i dont know the part number can anyone help

Here is the P/N of Fuel filter : MB 868459 (mitsubishi number)

I just changed mine back in Nov last year. The alternative number is V017 or VF17, which is Valvoline, $34.99 from Supercheap auto. It fits nicely. It is also equivalent with Z361 (I think RYCO brand).

Why do you need to change the fuel filter and when should you change it?
I think I read from some where at about 100,000km you should change this...

And how do you change it?

The fuel filter has its own functional life like other parts of the car. It filts, strains, prevents any dangerous(or at least has the potensial to endanger) solid particle that exists in the fuel (petrol) inside the fuel tank and pipe, from running into the injector/engine. The particles could be anything that come from rust, dust, dirt or impure petrol.
So over the time, this filter will be full of deposit inside. Just like other filters. So you need to change it after certain range of travel.

I read somewhere, you should change the filter about 30,000 mil (or 45000 km) under normal operation.
I changed it using 14mm & 17mm spanners. Also 10mm socket (or spanner) to loosen the braket. I did it from from the above, when I replaced the spark plugs. So it made me easy at that time coz I removed the intake manifold(to change spark plugs at rear bank)
You can jack up the car till enough for you to get under it and secure the car with jack stands and remove the filter from underneath.

Or else send your car to Unique Auto Sport or one of your favorite mechanics.

Sorry but the avarta isn't my car...

I wish....Although I do have the body kits at home sitting doing nothing but looking pretty on their own, as I haven't found any good place to put it on for it and respray them.

And my car is red with a t wing.

I never heard if mitsubishi is selling fto's fuel filter (if this is what u mean).
But they should have it.
Let me know which mitsu you've found, coz i need to buy tranny oil & filter too.
