HI all,
Just washed my car after the drags today and starting to notice the black eblem I have on the back of the car ( in the recess) is getting faded and white (Probably polish). THought I'd take it off and try and paint it. Anyone else tried this and what would you recommend that would break down the glue without damaging the paint?

oh and not to mention does anyone think that I will be able to paint them again. Might not work?

I know you can get new ones to fit back into it.
But personally I like it better without the emblem and it then sinks into the body.
I've also been thinking for a while to get the emblem cut out and mould some clear perpex into it then backlight it.

Oil & Grease remover ... Or Prepsol would be the go ...
As for re-painting them ... Well, don't really think that would work ... You could either take them to a decal place and use them as a template (get some UV proof decals made up) or do it on the cheap, and use them as a template on some contact (the stuff you cover books with) and go from there ...

You wouldn't want any of this stuff getting on your paint would you. Guessing taking it off would be a must. THanks.
I am getting a new one but want to keep it pristine for when I get a respray one of these days. Got some damage on the car since I bought it that I need to get repaired.

i personally prefer the emblem left there but just as a recess in the body and not filled with a sticker. I think it tends to look a bit cheap that way.
besides the indented emblem is just one of the things that makes the FTO so different to other cars.
