Hi All,
I'm aware some of you have gotten your intake manifold either dipped in pretty sparkles or just painted a dif colour or maybe even some of you have tried to polish it..

I want a few things chrome dipped "electroplated" now I'm having so much trouble finding someone to do this in qld (searching the yellow & white pages) they wont chrome them for the fact that there alloy?... which sucks? and half the people I speak to are pretty rude so they don't deserve my money haha

anyone got any idea's? or know anyone up here in the sunshine state that does this sort of thing for a good price "yes I know you get what you pay for but mates rates are sweet"

yeah aluminium needs special stuff to plate it because it oxidises as soon as it touches air. I have a plating kit with that stuff at home but haven't been able to set it up and try it yet because i'm building a new shed and have nowhere to put it.

If its alloy then you should just have it polished. When you have it plated they need to polish it anyway because chrome is actually only a really thin layer and any imperfections show through. The only benefit of plating alloy is to stop it from going dull, but it can be buffed up to mirror again easily.

Also there is a place near me called traditional metal polishing/finishing or something simular that will plate alloy.

Yeh i spoke to a few places some said they would do my intake manifold and rocker cover... others said no to one and yes to another.. lol very confusing!

i guess i shall just get it polished.
