I have an Apexi RSM in my car and it reads different to the speedo. Just wondering what one would be reading correctly?

Wouldve thought they both read from the same meter.

Id say stocko because its usually configured to your car. And is set from the factory to read the ECU's speed precisely...

Id also say the RSM cause its digital as apposed to an anologue dial...

How much is the difference??

I bought a GPS system... Totally independant readings (from satelites as opposed to sensor)... Give 1km/h variance to the stocko speedo.

by settings i mean the settings on his RSM for tyre size etc... cos your speedo is set for the stock tyre and rim size.
and also i've yet to see a car that has a speed that's spot on even with stocko everything...

i have 215/45r17 tyres. when I'm doing 100km as per the RSM, the stock speedo says about 108-110km

well... that throws my theory out the window lol
the difference shouldnt be that much and the speedo should say slower if u have larger wheel diametres
well... i'm still special lol

thats not really a valid reason, thats like saying my digital clock reads the correct time because its digital! and my anologue clock shows the incorrect time because its old school

The stock speedo will always read 5% over. Thats the case on most Jap cars.

My reasoning behind that is that digital is constant. it will read exactly what the sensor tells it..

An analogue could have so many more things affect it.

However i doubt it would cause 8kmh difference..

So ben... All jap cars usually come with a 5% difference?? strange.... dammit... now im gonna take it into account when driving... lol

Are there any in NSW, the over head radars? I've seen a few in melbourne while I was down there but not in NSW.
