On logging in it says
Attention!!!
We have noticed an increasing fraudulent activity recently. In order to provide your security and protect you from fraudsters we have introduced a new system of identification that will help us to avoid any kind of fraud or unauthorised access.
Please enter as more information as possible to provide your complete identification and to activate all the features of the new system.
and then promptly asks you to enter all your details including credit card expiry date and
pin number and
cvv2 number.
the message above also contains some bad grammer and too many exclamation marks to be professional...
or maybe im just going insane...

You would think fraudsters wouldnt be so stupid in using incorrect grammer, spelling and punctiation.
Then again it makes you think that if people are actually paying them off despite their terrible layout / grammer etc then who really is the fool?
But in answering your above comments.. yes definate fraud.
what you can do is post your details to me via PM.. CC number, expiry, a/c details, mothers maiden name etc etc and ill sort it out for you... like.. i know a guy

hahaha

Thats a scam, and if you've logged into the link they've provided then you have already given them your details. Log into paypal.com and (make sure you type the url correctly) change your password IMMEDIATELY.

I cant... ive tried it several times... typed "
www.paypal.com" exactly and then logged in using different links and it still comes up.
checked my bank statement on line though and it looks like no ones done a transfer...
Edit: Just tried a different computer and its all good.. back to the normal page that shows after u log in. Might have been a virus on the other computer... I did an online scan and it came up with something but i forgot what it was... some trojan/malware.
Changed my password now anyway.

Was no doubt a virus/trojan redirecting you to their dodgy site, download a few decent Antivirus/Spyware/trojan removing programs & do a full sweep of your computer ... Theres no harm in installing multiple antivirus programs (Unless of course you're running Norton Antivirus, which might crack the sh*ts at it) Here's a few suggestions for decent & free programs
http://www.kaspersky.com/ (Unrestricted Trial)
http://free.grisoft.com/ (Free Antivirus/Spyware remover)
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html (free spyware remover)
With viruses these days they can imbed themselves pretty deep within your system & not be picked up by Antivirus programs... best way to definately get rid of them is to do a full format & reinstall of your operating system & programs as soon as you get a hint of a virus on your PC. Anyways... good luck with it..

i had a virus on my "new computer tools" cd, which of course had my anti virus program on it lol
and as for antivirus programs, i suggest u use 2, one mainstream one (i.e. norton or mcfee) and another less known and free one.
and dont use the norton scan thing that comes with the google pack, its as annoying as actually having a virus lol (mine wont let me uninstall it or delete it and it keeps telling error etc.. )

i'd definately advise against norton antivirus... not because i have anything against Symantec... they have some other good products (ghost, partitition magic), i just don't think their Anti-Virus is one of them.. this program is near impossible to remove all traces of if you want to remove it, and hopefully they've changed this by now (doubt it) but trying to run another antivirus in conjunction with nortons is a pain in the ass..
McAffee I have never used, so i have no opinion on
Might as well download a bunch and try them out anyways..

AVG is one of the best free Anti virus on the Market.
Webroot
Spy Sweeper is regarded as one of the best spyware programs... but it aint free... unless you know where to look.

Also try HijackThis!:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php
It will show you if there are any dodgy programmes running in the background.

i used to reply to dodgy emails and fill in those forms that ask for my details (the dodgy ones) with BS and abuse...
figured that if they r going to try to rip me off the only payback thing i can do is have some fun and hopefully waste some of their time lol
and mate, i doubt it would just be gone. try running antivirus programs in safe mode, or even take your hard drive out and put it in someone else's computer as a slave and scan it then.
