And mine in an asshole.
Spent hours giving her another brake upgrade on Monday evening, including a job I will never attempt again - swapping out the booster unit, and putting in the new 1" bore master cylinder.
Then, as Im enjoying my new braking power during a spirited drive to a customer site in Baulkham Hills, I heard a whopping thud throught the pedals & the engine light comes on & the volts drop to 12.... A quick glance in the rear vision mirror see's the snapped alternator belt whilsting away into the traffic.
Fortunately the car continued to run for long enough for me to swing by Repco (left the car running with all electrics turned off) grab a new belt & then shoot back to my office where I have tools.
It always the way, you do something nice for the car & then it gives you the sh*ts in return!

Noticed everytime I start the car in the morning, the fuel gauge goes down by almost a 1/4 of a tank.
Guess it must love to be ridden so much that it compensates by drinking up the petrol in the morning.

dude i swear you are macgyver reincarnated... i would've definately done something stupid like pull over & turn the car off & then have to wait around for a few hours for RACQ to turn up..
it all fixed up now?
Also, you should write up a 'Bennoz' Definitive Guide to FTO Brake Upgrades'

LOL Yeah she's all good now.
I've been meaning to do a big Brake thread... sort of like the Suspension thread. I've got all the pics from doing the jobs, just need to DIY-ify them.

You've forgotten to strap the body down in your boot? They tend to roll around a bit.
Cheers Ben for reminding me to get a spare belt... Had one go in the middle of nowhere on my last car - wasn't fun.

At least it wasnt the other belt! Ever try driving it without power steering? Even Chuck Norris would struggle.

That happened to me one night...doing 100km/h, power steer belt came off some how. Kinda paniced cause there was a corner ahead so slowed down as quick as I could and struggled to get off the road just as I got to the corner... Jacked it up put the belt back on, tightened everything back up and drove home.
All that happened the same day I put my new dials in, ungrateful damn car.
