do a coat of heat resistant paint as the undercoat & then you can use whatever paint you want, if you can clear coat it with more heat resistant paint i'm sure that would be best, otherwise i don't think that the clear coat would matter if it wasn't heat res.

Depends if you want to just spray it one colour, or if you actually want to paint a picture on it (i'm sure you have seen some of the amazing samples on the net)

If you just want to spray it one colour, then caliper paint should work fine for you!

If you want to spray it with a whole picture (lots of different colours) there might not be a big enough range of colours in caliper paint to suit you.

Caliper paint also comes in glossy depending on what brand you get. Cheaper ones are matte.

We talkin bout the MIVEC cover here???
I painted mine with some silver high temp paint from the local paint store.
just sanded it back first and washed it.. Then Sprayed away.. No clear coast or anything... HOwever its pretty rough up close. So you may want to investigate further.

Piccies:

Ignore the MS Paint crap.. Pic was being used for something else. (To get a CF Mivec cover made up.)
