now that the law is changed to only allow p platers non turbo and non super charged cars as well as nothing over 6 cyl ive noticed a massive increase of fto's kickin around as well as the price of em skyrocketing. my imagination or are others noticing this?
i like the re-sale potential (not that i would think of selling her) but not so keen on ftos becoming common place with p platers coz im sure insurance companys are rubbing their hands together with an evil look just thinking about the extra cash they can squeeze from us by raising the risk factor cost.
not that being a young male sydney driver has left me with a poor opinion of insurance companys

I know the problem too too well especially when Just car wanted $4300 for full insurance. They said the reason its so high is because I'm under 25, live in Punchbowl and a lot of ppl where having accidents in them.
Don't get me wrong I've had no problems with them and their very easy to deal with when you've had a accident even if it's your fault. But how can they justify a third of the price of the car in insurance.

Yet i still haven't really noticed more FTOs on the road with red p's on them really. It seems when new p platers ask what import they should get, they get a lot of "n/a supra" response. Fair enough though, fast, rwd experience and looks ok i guess. Ever sat in one though ? Not a fan of the interior and the car is massive on the road hrmm.

yes, i think so far it only means your top speed limit. but i have a feeling that it will eventually mean a curfew or different times for curfews....

red - goes for 1yr, 90k top speed, 4pts on licence
green - goes for 2yrs, 100k top speed, 7pts on licence
Full licence has 12pts here in NSW

Are you still restricted to the car that you drive on your Greens?

Although with greens, you can change to manual without going through any tests or even letting the rta know. That's if you went for your reds in an auto car.
