Individual throttle bodies

Do any of you guys have individual throttle bodies for fast road use, or do you know of anyone who does?

I will have some cash maybe later in the year and I was thinking of going down this route. Well, everyone else is going forced induction so why not be different?

Any comments or suggestions would be gratefully received.

Well just spoke to Mitsiman, electronically at least as he is half a world away, and I think it will be w ahile before ITBs will be worth while.

I think they wouldn't be too drivable with ITB's

But, a 2.5 frank motor with cams, and ITB... ECSTACY....

Yup, even for a fast road car it seems a bit unfeasable. I will go for fueling, breathing and engine management then start to look at cams next. Once the FTO gets retired from road use and becomes a pure track car then I will go for the ITBs.

Although after panting a bit over home made ITBs I remembered that there isn't that many straight six bikes I could got the parts from

Maybe you can buy two 4 ITB's, cut 2 off and then weld them so it's 6?

RPW sells ITB's and I think considering what they are, their price is not too bad. Problem is unsure if they have been tested?

Also, for a street FTO, if you had the 2.5L frank, then ITB's wouldn't be too bad I think

Oh... and just imagine the sound 8O

Here's a pic of the unit I use on my mini - Weber Alpha Injection system. Yes, its monster of a car, but its quite streetable. I dont know why people stray away from individual TBs, its so much more effecient its not funny - and it doesnt make the car that undriveable. Looking at price lists I think its just a money making plan - they are bigger & better, therefore they are much more expensive

Skyline GTR and Pusar gtir have individual throttle bodys from stock and they are drivable, one thing I have noticed with ITB's on a NA engine is that the engine becomes very responsive and revs very quickly, and of course more power 8)

You'll need to send it to Scotland Jono

I'm going to save up for some RPW ones and see where I go from there.

Most high performance engines use individual throttle bodies.

M3, M5, Lamo V10, Ferrari etc etc.

They are just boxed up, thats why in a BMW you see air boxes ontop of engine.
