I cant win so I'm going home heh?
on a side note if you're so experienced in the industry then why are you calling UAS for stuff you should be able to buy from your contacts?
anyway i don't mean to sound rude but this is a pointless conversation and i'm done with it.
Unfortunately the FTO is a specialised/rare vehicle and not too many suppliers have body kits for em. But that will change cause we are making moulds off the kit i bought and will be offering them at a discount price. We will be making a couple of mods to improve the quality of the kit but it will look basically the same.

As for having something against UAS, nah, I hate all mechanics, but yea specially the ones who root me around.
My biggest issue is the way you advertise them as being the bees knees, while you slander others who you have not dealt with. You knock the throttle body that you know nothing about, yet you say you are going to experiment on it???
You knock the quality of the carmate kits when they are almost identical to the UAS one???
and if you reread (is that a word) the previous thread you locked me out of, you will see my comments were quite generalised and more about business than UAS. I'm sorry if you get offended but the same critisism you give others. OK I'm pretty blunt about it but there is a reason you get offended...
THE TRUTH HURTS
For those that are interested the FTOWA.com site is very informative and not biased to any particular companies.

Oh man this is getting boring!!!!! Get over it elmo, is this what club membership is all about? Stephen may well be the owner of this web site but he has the right to express his opinion, so does everyone else here. An opinion is just that an opinion, its not a question of whos right and whos wrong. Grow up!

FYI elmo, I locked the thread because:

1. we do not need another workshop/company bashing thread in this forum

2. i could see the argument coming to no end

3. the arguments in that thread had the potential to flare up unneccessarily into one messy sh*t fight and that's exactly the kind of thing we do not need here (or anywhereb for that matter)

4. it's nothing personal

5. you've each made your point

6. it was irrelevant and to an extent, non-constructive and inappropriate

So everyone please, if there is a need for you to get your message across to the other party, use your Private Messaging (PM) facility. that's what it's there for so you can sort it out amongst yourselves...

I'm not taking any sides here but there are better ways to discuss things constructively without dividing the forum community over petty issues such as this...

Well that's my 2c - let's call it a day ok?

PEACE! :D

i know mikey's going to get upset at me for replying but mikey too bad i promise this will be my last post on this topic.

don't ever think i would be so petty as to lock a topic. the only topic's i'll ever lock are those which are so abusive or vulgar that they have to be deleted. i'm a believer in free speach, but at the same time i believe that those who make a statement need to back it up with proof.

I have made purchases from from RPW and helped "install" other peoples purchases from there, my complaints are based on real life interactions with the company involving money, not just a phone call for a quote.

the only thing i'm critical about with RPW is that they refuse to offer dyno results. i am fully aware that the results of a mod will vary from dyno to dyno, car to car, day to day. however the setup of my car is documented and most people should expect to see similar results.

the throttle body we did a vacuum test on my car and go zero point two (0.2) of an inch of vacuum on the throttle body the graph went from zero to 0.2 over the rev range. in my humble opinionits a very expensive mod for a tiny increase in power. again this is on my car don't know what other cars are like but on mine to me the cost for getting rid of that kind of restriction just isn't there. As part of other breathing mods (post throttle body) it may well be of use but in the cars stock condtion (post throttle body) i just couldn't justify the cost.

Its a bit like fitting a F.P.R. we tested this and spent about 1000.00 on a unit and testing time and gained 2kW, this sin't worth doing on a car until its actually needed. who is honestly going to say "oh i can feel that 2kW gain" if you can its all in your head. (unless you have a 20kW car)

I have made requests in the past (that have been ignored) that RPW publish their results so that people can see on a specific car what the improvements were but to date i've been ignored. To me this is not the way a performance shop that is supposedly building products that'll improve the performance of the FTO should be operating.

as someone who has purchased products from RPW you should have everyone of them dyno tested (i.e. put something on then dyno run, put on another mod, then dyno test) and publish them so that i'll shutup.

good luck with the body kit production i hope you guys make the money out of it you are looking to make. I know what moulds cost to get built and it may take you a while to cover your costs.

on the CARMATE issue, have you seen what their "Fitting" is like? these are the areas i'm critical of, fog lights falling out (Ricks yellow GPX), bad fitting with other pannels (many different cars not just FTO's). The products they sell and UAS sell and hell 99.9% of the body kit shops in australia all come from the same moulds and are imported by the same people. its not the products i'm that critical over.

ok now before i upset mikey anymore i'm done on this if you would like to continue this conversation please PM me. i'm sure our members have had enough of this.

edit: back to topic - on a more serious note, members are all welcome to discuss and/or express their views and opinions (to a certain extent) without the fear of being persecuted against... We live in a free country after all and as mentioned earlier we encourage free speech around here which is one of the main reasons why I enjoy this forums so much...

please keep it that way without subjecting others to abuse, provocation or intimidation. i know it's a very grey area to define what is considered provocative or intimidatory and what not for example, but by exercising a little bit of restraint, there are better ways to communicate our views to one another, whether it be on the forums or Private Messaging.

if the arguments heats up and starts becoming pear-shaped or irrelevant, then the admin or moderator reserves the right to edit, lock or delete the thread in the best interest of its members and club in general.

if anyone has any issues which they wish to discuss or escalate, please feel free to contact any of the forum moderators or state reps - that's what we're here for. :)
