Hi everyone,
After spending a month reading stuff on the forum for the last month I decided that I should actually introduce myself and my baby who I am smitten with. She is a 97 GPX, 5 speed manual preface lift in Scotia white.
The current setup is
Engine
Just a pod intake (brand unknown)
Dual tip 2.5 cat back exhaust. (I can't remember the brand but I will look)
Front sway bar (Brand unknown)
Body
Windows tinted with 30-35 percent all round
Topmix side skirts (don't know if gen)
Topmix rear apron (don't know if gen)
Topmix eyelids. Not on the car at the moment
Version r spoiler (don't know if it is gen, prob not I am guessing)
Stock 16' GPX rims
Interior
Pioneer head unit don't know the model
Kenwood speakers
Carbon Fibre look crap around the climate control. will be removed at some stage
Carbon Fibre look dash insert.
Issues
Tappets. There is a surprise, but I can't complain it helped me knock 2 grand off the asking price cause the mechanic said it was lashers which needed replaced and guessed the would cost $30 each x 24. The previous owner didn't even question it. Hopefully these will be fixed tomorrow
Central locking After spending 5 hours yesterday pulling apart the drivers door and trying to clean the little electric motor that is in the door. That was a biatch of a job to manover the whole lock out of the door. Went to a mitsi dealer today and they wanted $420 plus for the part, think i will try the scrappie for another one.
Passenger window Currently the passanger window gets up 90-95% then the safety mechanism kcick in and drops the window down back to 1/3 open. I think this is to do with the seals either that the window guides in the door. Will figure it out soon.
Drivers side mirror Previous owner knocked off the mirror and replaced it with a non folding mirror. Again a trip to the scrappie to find the internals of a folding mirror and hopefully I can just swap the guts over so mine will fold in again.
3rd gear If I am pushing the car into MIVEC world and I shift from 2nd to 3rd. 3rd will grind as you push it in. If you drive conservately you can ease it in no worries, not grinding noises. Can be the same when down shifting. I am hoping it is just an transmission oil change, not syncros
Future plans, once most of my baby is paid off. Small bits will probably get done along the way
White 17 rims
Leatherette seat covers
LED replacement lights
New bulbs for the headlights
Tint rear lights
New front lip
King Springs
New Gear stick and Hand brake
White dials or reverse dials
Aluminum surrounds for dials
Footwell lights
brake light mask
extractors
short shift kit as well
Would like to paint the MIVEC cover but we will see
That is all that I can think of at the moment
It will be good to catch up with you all, unfortunately it will not be at this cruize, but I will try to make the next one. Photos will come soon but she needs a bit of a clean first, Will try and get some done on the weekend. No one said Scotia white was a biatch to keep clean
Cheers
