Back to the old airbox...well not quite

Hi Guys
I bought the UAS intake pipe and Unifilter setup which has been working well fr some time.
However following some reading and not having a sealed unit I have decided to go back to stock...But then I found I can use the UAS intake pipe...and the stock airbox...which was good.
So I proceeded to look at the intake from the bar...which has been extensive looked at before...it is crap I agree.
So in the weekend I will get a Hi-Flow K&N panel filter for the box and take off the front bar and re-route a new intake pipe..
Gone is the noise...but now I have good pressure and not much chance of sucking in heat...yay..
Has anyone else used a different panel filter other than stock or K&N?
*** edit.
Looks like the Apexi Power Intake Panel Filter is the go..on order already
I have to say that with the stock airbox I noticed a difference in acceleration...maybe not better, just seemed smoother.
