* The australian women's basketball team, The Opals,
trounced the Czech Republic 79-46 in their quarter final clash.
Newspapers everywhere finally got to use the headline -
"Aussie Women Bounce Czecks"

* The australia men's basketball team, The Boomers,
will face their ultimate test today as the take on
the United States 'Dream Team' which includes NBA superstars
Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
This will be a MUST SEE game...
...especially if you have the Harlem Globetrotters music
playing in the background while you watch it!

* in un-related news, 2 teens in the UK were forced to flog themselves in a ceremony
as ordered by their muslim leader, resulting in cuts & bleeding.
Eddie McGuire has been flogging himself for years and seems to be doing okay so far.

OMG, how crap was channel 7's coverage!!! and how much did the commentator complain

end of the first half: lets cross to 800m qualifies, and then run some ads, and return the 3rd quarter.... after 3mins of the 10min quarter has already past.

oh, interchange,lets run a 5min block of ads, and come back after a total of 15points have been scored...

* as each day of the olympics goes by, it's becoming more & more obvious
that channel 7 showed as much swimming as possible to distract viewers
with all the bright & shiny gold medals we were winning
to hide the fact that the rest of their coverage is COMPLETE sh*t!!!
my vote for worst commentator - Simon Marshall in the equestrian events
that guy couldn't commentate his way out of a wet paper bag

* Australia's hopes of winning gold in the BMX event have been put on hold
as heavy rain forced the delay of today's semi-finals.
this is now officially the only event i could give a rats arse about

* Greco-Roman Wrestling - looks *~delightful!~* when guys do it.
unfortunately all the women wrestlers look like guys too

* in un-related news, for dating Jennifer Aniston i award John Mayer a silver medal.
for dumping her via SMS.... i'll upgrade him to gold.

picking up a silver in the men's 50 km walk,
fuelled by a diet of pizza and flat soft drink.
Pizza and soft drink hey???
nah, John Mayer is still my hero... Jared Tallent can be second

* British Olympic boxer Billy Joe Saunders has been suspended after
posting an explicit video on YouTube showing a sexual confrontation with a French woman.
heh heh... looks like there's a new contender to be my hero!

* in un-related news, an abandoned whale calf was euthanized after it
was believed it was orphaned an unable to survive.
Hours later the deceased whale's mother was found!
just 1 more reason for fat kids not to get lost at the beach
