Not sure where to go from here.

Might look at a part time job or full time job at something like repco for the mean time while I sort out what I want to do as a legitimate career..

Sorry to hear mate. But when working on cars is no longer fun you will find yourself slowing down on your own projects.

Yep. Didnt exactly want to do a 45 hour week on other people's cars and then come home and do my own.

9 hours a day on someone elses piece of crap car wasnt putting me in the mood to even look at my own.

Kind of the reason why I never wanted to get in to that industry, pretty much figured that's how I'd find it.

In the end, some people never settle in 1 career, I don't. Bores me.

Just don't get stuck in the "finding out what to do for life" bullshit. Just try anything, you don't know you like things till you try it, and you don't know you don't like things until you try it (mechanic).

Just cause you think something would be *~delightful!~* to work as... doesn't mean it will be, a lot of things are completely different in working conditions.

Plus, no one will stick to one career their whole life... You can always change down the track!

Yeah, basically what I need to do is sort out what kind of thing I want to be doing long term then aim to get the qualifications to do it..

Means a job at repco or similar in the mean time

LOL.

Just don't expect to be having 'fun' at all your jobs. If I wanted a fun job, I'd just have to find someone to pay me to drink piss & yak about crap all day. Unfortunately the only people that pay money for that are market researchers for which I'm already registered with... and they dont call often enough to pay a $4k a month mortgage

I'm a qualified mechanical engineer by trade, also worked in the trade for 2 years after study & I f#cking hated it. Led me to a rather prosperous IT career.... so you never know what you'll end up doing!

Its not the fact that the job itself wasnt fun.. jobs arent fun, I get that much.

What I mean is that working on vehicles just led me to hating working on my own stuff.

I want to end up in something that I'm interested in, not necessarily fun. Something to do with motorsport or part sales is appealing at the moment. Apart from that Im not really sure. Need a bit of time to just sit on a casual job for a while and have a think about doing some sort of course at tafe or equivalent to get into something worth doing.

Lol

Builder
Tiler
It consultant
Network engineer
Sales assistant
Assistant manager
Manager
Phone sales
Returns officer
International buyer

Plus there was work I did prior to being a builder and all, and I still do a bit of I.T. on the side.

Just do what you want, as you want. So long as it pays the bills, job done... Pun intended.

Probably move back in to sales next year, with something I have a great interest in, so changing it up again.

I guess something to do with imported vehicles would be interesting.. whether it be importing them or selling them in Australia. But then again, car salesman...

If I took offense to things you said then I'd be in a clinic being treated for severe depression and/or anger management issues!
