I get you but the other two dyno's are the same make as well :?
So they should be close to each other, well one would think any way

Let's keep the "Should" "If" "Suppose" away until he got his dyno done with >137kw.
No point to claim anything by just speculating.

Guys the problem with Dyno's is they have fudge factors...

Notice the field on your dyno sheet that says 'Correction'. Correction factors are used to adjust your tune for atmospheric conditions, but will also change the power output! So in comparing figures on different dynos the first thing you need to look at is the correction factor used. Then of course there's the actual atmospheric conditions, and even things such as your tyre pressures or how tight they tie you down can make a difference, and then of course you have calibration, how often and how well is the dyno being used actually calibrated. So take any figures you get on a dyno with a grain of salt. Take it to the strip and calculate power on a timed run (google for the formula ;).

Was gona say the same but not as detailed

Only way to compair would be back to back on same dyno

compare, sorry bro

Aza is it even possibly that your car could have lost some power since you last dynod it at 137kw and dont you track it occasionally?

Just think hot day pumps hot air into engine less air less kws cold day pumps more air in more kws not to mention tyres hot day cold day changes the tyres
Grip on tyres
Strapping of the car
All of it will affect the out put

Differences can be massive. My last run up on a foreign dyno got me 155kws. Prior to that on another dyno it was 230kws. Uncomparable.

Best way to do it ^^^^

Lets just settle this on the black top.

that dosent work either cause a car with less power could beat the other depending on both drivers
only way is to dyno at the same time that way no matter what the dyno says it will affect both the same

First off, i was just quoting from TFTF (ie a joke, wasnt actually contributing to the thread ) and secondly did I mention anything about different drivers, no I didn't. Have you ever watched Topgear? Pretty sure the stig is settling it on the black top, now get back in hole.

Settle down boys

Even on the track there are many factors that will contribute to varying numbers. The only true way to do it on tarmac is use a formula that accounts for environmental factors, and W.O.T. accelerate in a single gear from a set starting speed to a set ending speed and time it (a GPS unit works wonders here).

As for on a dyno, using the correction factor based on actual environmental factors can be reasonably accurate, provided the dyno is well maintained and calibrated accurately.

That said, the purpose of dyno tuning a car is not to generate a number, it's to assist with obtaining an optimal tune. The actual number itself is not the end goal, the tune is. Problem is most tuners out there haven't any idea about tuning because all the peeps that visit them want is a high number, which is very easy to fudge, and often results in a bad tune!

PS: Ben, can you add w.o.t. less the dots to the dictionary, keeps changing to 'what'

Shane is right on the money, 1/4 mile time and speed can be plugged in a few formulas and will give you an idea of power. Quite frankly though, who cares, if your getting improved times on the drag strip and/or the track then you know you've somewhat succeeded in squeezing performance out of your engine, power figures don't always matter. Also don't forget improvements in torque matter as well and are often overlooked.
