Hahah prob Mr Cu*t!!! Seriously even if I did both heads I can't see where the costs come from as I do heads all the time, but thats probably from doing it myself as with head gaskets, its the labor that roots ya.vipfto wrote:neither am I![]()

BS, the head bolts alone cost more than that.payaya wrote:Hahah prob Mr Cu*t!!! If I did it myself it would be a 200 buck job.
Do you actually replace head bolts everytime you blow a gasket? I dont think so...I8A4RE wrote:BS, the head bolts alone cost more than that.payaya wrote:Hahah prob Mr Cu*t!!! ah actually you do on fto engines, they are one use only unless you using aftermarket onesBennoz wrote:Do you actually replace head bolts everytime you blow a gasket? Why mention it then in head gasket thread???J wrote:never said anything about gaskets? :S
Well the manual states that they are a one use only bolt then later goes on to say that you can measure them and if they are within spec you can use them...go figure.Bennoz wrote:Rubbish!
You only replace them if they've stretched. Aka the shank length exceeds 96.4mm.
I've still got a full set here from my engine that the nos blew up & none of 'em are past that length threshold.
