bought some new springs just now too, they're dobinson Lows.

Tried getting quotes for Tein adjustable shocks/springs from Fulcrum, but they couldn't get me any part numbers because the car is not in their system. :\
Apart from KYB and Beilstein for shocks and King and Dobinsons for springs, do I have any other options? Does anyone know about Tein part numbers which I can check with Fulcrum?

I also tried checking for BC BR Gold coil overs to see if they can get me 5kg front and 3kg rear ratings instead of 7kg front and 5kg rear. Asked them if they would revalve the shocks for the new spring ratings, I was told I can go +/- 4kg settings on the springs without having to revalve the shocks. Is this correct?

I have a feeling I won't like coil over for what am trying to achieve. (Making the car GT spec).

I want something which is ride height and camber adjustable within the $1200 mark all up (+ installation).

Any advice?

BC V1 I'll give u a drive in mine when I get wheels shadow. Not too hard at all.

@Matt, I drove vegemite's car from his place to Sahin's and back this weekend, he had BC BR Golds. Even though I didn't feel it as hard, it was bit bouncy. Also, I did get some pain around my buttocks after driving back.. am thinking this was more about seating position than cause of coil overs.

Driving distance didn't cause this because I have driven to Coffs and back straight, drove to Sydney in FTO as well as Pajero and never had any problem.
He had 7kgs front and 5kgs rear and set to the softest setting.

I also have to consider my fucked up spine from the hit and run accident I had.

I want straight line stability (camber, caster and toe adjustments), and ride comfort. But at the same time I want sharp enough steering controls to avoid sudden obstacles and take on some twisty roads. Not going anywhere near tracks. That's why I think the coilovers won't get enough use if am not taking them to any tracks.

Coilovers .. Whole set-up ... Bought a while ago, to swap out the G4's in the black FTO .. But if I sell the car, I wont need..

Hmmm, think you have a set of Type HA. I might skip them, they are absolutely awesome around tracks and for spirited twisty driving though. Got in a car which had Tein Super Streets other day, was too stiff for prolonged road use. Was even stiffer than BC BR Gold.

Edit: Oh sh*t...3k .... hmmm That's going to be hard to get cleared through the finance minister.

Most likely the seats sidds, they're a lot firmer compared to yours. But could be the coilovers. And what they told you about the coilover spring rates sounds right.

And matt is right about the difference. The BC V1 coil overs are street specific where as the BC BR Gold be are like a cross between street and track. There are more bc coilovers than just those two but they are all for different types of race use so these 2 are the only ones worth discussing.

Just got off the phone with one of the managers in Fulcrum's head office. Tein's QSR36-AVSS2; adjustable Super Street damper for FTO is only authorized to sell in the UK. They can't legally sell it here or even bring it in. If I want it, I need to order it from UK. They are happy to service it when the time comes.
There are no similar products from Tein for the FTO to be sold here. I'll check if they can be ordered via Camskill. I do have some options from Eibach, Apex and Teins for springs if I decide to go down that path.

He is going to get back to me on some price quotes for adjustable pillow top mounts.

Then had a chat with Dan from Option 1 (BC Coil overs). He mentioned, although the V1 is softer than BR, it has significant 'spring noise' while slow manoeuvring. So he gave me a heads up on that. He can however order in 5kg front and 4kg rear set up for me at the same price. Which will be softer than stock V1 spring ratings.

I will get back home and do some more research on Spring and Shock setup.

So far I have all bushes ordered in through Fulcrum, except the rear trailing arm, which am grabbing off Nolathane.

There is a constant knocking sound from driver side front wheel when driving on a straight road (Brissy to GC), like something is hitting/knocking against something as the wheel moves up and down. But no noise if I go really slow and even over bumps. It was there before I even put the 17 inch wheels in, so it's not caused by the bigger wheels. It has just become more prominent recently.
