a friend of my gf in 1998 wanted to buy a car (i think a Honda) and we went to this joint that sold imports (by accident) thats when I saw Supras, skylines and this FTO..I thought they all were the bomb...but they were like 35k!! OMG and I was in uni and never worked before (thanks mum and dad)

Anyway some time later after I bought my XF Falcon for $7k on gas...what a machine (4 spd manual also) but eventually I traded up to the EL fairmont which I still own...never thought about the rice cars until my wife (who is a raice girl) said she hated the EL Fairmont! When I recovered from the shock she started pointing out cars she liked...she likes the rice so it was always a supra/skyline and then an FTO...I had this mate when I worked at NEC who imported one in 2002 and knew he was looking to selll but was too lazy to get it fixed up so I bought it off him a few weeks ago...damn its machine once I get the tappets fixed by Lee next Monday...

FTOs are great value to money 15K its like giving them away!

Saw it at auction seemed ok checked prices got it cheap thought I'ld make a quick $ but she liked it so I wasn't allowed to resell it.
Now why hasn't that worked for me with all the Harleys I'vbe bought and sold might try it next time "But dear I like it"
Somehow I don't think that will work

i was into skylines at one point (14yrs old) like most people because i was a young teenager... watched some initial d persuaded me to like skylines some more, one day someones brother drove him to school in a black veilside fto, n i was like :o what car is that, n the guys like its a mitsubishi fto! n then i looked them up on carsales n they were same price as skylines but so much hotter! so i was like :o gotta get me one of them! so i askd for more hours at burgerking! n 3 years later i had the fto with veilside!

i was 18, got a job that paid enough to afford a nice car, was not a car person at all but decided it was time, spent a week on carsales looking at everything.

remembered seeing an aweeesome car bout 2 weeks back on a work trip, asked a mate who i pointed it out to at the time, told me it was an FTO.

i said Whats an FTO? rest is history.. on my second FTO now, bought, resold, upgraded to the world of manual mivec :)

Saw an FTO in a multi-level carpark around 6 years ago and I was blown away by the shape and honestly I thought it was worth at least $100000. I was blown away by the shape and have never seen anything like it. Imports were quite rare to see around Melbourne back then.

Later on I bumped into a website and saw that they were selling them for around $24000 and a few months later after having inspected many FTO's, my friend saw one on the freeway for sale and gave me their phone number. I had a look at that one and it was the best condition FTO I had seen............that was 4 years ago.........and I still drive it to this day.

Thought the same thing, when my mate told me to look it up, the real price blew me away.

This is probably the reason us younger fellows get wierd looks when driving them.

Not that I mind :D
