You have a black car, it's far less noticeable to get a real CF bonnet.

Also, if you spend the money, you can't get an engineer to certify the bonnet, but it has to be made a certain way, and will cost you around 2K for the finished product.

Also it's very hard to accomplish.

Hell, even I have issues deciding, do I go outside and get my head chopped off by some P platers carbon bonnet, or stay inside and breath in the fumes from my massive TV, computer monitors and computer exhausts...

So hard too choose.

Well theres still the risk of getting that defect sticker thats gonna get my car off the road.
I wouldn't mind spending the 2k because I knew from the start getting anything CF isnt going to be cheap lol.

Also no matter how far away you are from the car, you'll notice the bonnets not the same colour as the car & im pretty sure a coppa will easily notice the CF right?
then BAM! the coppa may aswell pull a pineapple outta his pig mobile.

Would it be possible to spray the underside of a CF bonnet in the same colour as the car? That way when the cop lifts it, it just looks like you've got a wrapped bonnet?

And yes, I know there's going to be the whole "But they'll notice the weight difference!" And frankly, I don't care. You can add some lead weights to the leading edge if you want. Or even put the bonnet on really slow gas struts. That way, when the officer opens it, it'll "feel" heavy because the struts restrict the speed at which it can be opened. ;)

Nice try, but the missing steel reinforcing under layer of a standard bonnet will always be a give away

Omg lol
Buying a carbon fibre bonnet and adding lead weights to it? Wow that is nearly the most stupid thing I have ever heard.

Omg lol
That's why I said you "COULD" if you "WANTED" to. I'm not the one who's chasing weight reduction, just trying to help with a solution is all.

re. the steel reinforcing, doesn't a carbon bonnet have a similarly designed reinforcement, just made of carbon? If not, then get creative with some fibreglass and paint it all over. do an overlay of an original bonnet's underside and then glue that to the underside of your new CF bonnet.

or you could just paint the top and they would have no reason to check your bonnet 8)
