its not always about looks mate's. i would also like to hear from people that track there fto's and hear what thay haft to say and also what kind of times there getting down the strip. at this stage im still doing mods to the fto. i now have light weight 17s which makes the handling so much better and not so heavy as well as a few other things removing the vailside front bar and neon's out of the car

Civics are a weapon of choice in Improved Production racing here in NSW. There are a few under 2 litre records attributed to them. Very very fast car done right and in the right hands.

but as you were saying before the only reason the VTEC YO!!!!!'s are quick and no 1 to mod is cause of the aftermarket support if we had that support the fto would be a real contender

Yeah different class, different set of rules, but their biggest advantage is they weigh nothing!

Not a dyno run mate, you can clearly hear the beeps at the start for a highway rolling start, and the wind, and the people in the back

Does it have to be a small car?
It simply sounds like you want something that has a lot more than either car could offer.
Not to jump the Mitsu band wagon... perhaps a bit late 2 cars ago.
But the like of Subarus 'hatch' back, aka mini wagon may more well suit, you have a decent motor, more room and still Jap engineering.
There are other alternatives again, but if you def want a coupe then it does limit you a bit.
Meanwhile, lol to the rest of this thread.
