My manager from work has a manual FG F6 Typhoon ute, rated at 315kw from factory. Shortly after buying it, he went to have a power run on a dyno to see what it would pull before any modifications. The printout from the run, which he has showed me, displayed a result of 297kw at the wheels, which is practically impossible given that the car was brand new and completely standard.
That sounds about right doesn't it? Considering the factory rating would be at the flywheel?
Around 20% for a RWD, bit less for a FWD.

It could be the dyno. That said, a lot of the turbo V6 Falcons are under rated when it comes to power so that the V8's look like the better more powerful cars.
FPV F6 are known to produce more power than quoted. The straight 6 version though, never seen a V6 one before

Bahah you think I don't laugh when I comment about Fords on this forum??

)
Thanks for reminding me!! My work mate has an EF Falcon (Think they were 147KW stock) the same as the FTO Mivec. He spent 2k on it and it's pulling 165KW at the wheels.

So an FTO with 147KW at 7500rpm and 200NM at 6000rpm compared to a Ferrari with 491 newton meters at 5500 rpm and maximum power of 319 kilowatts at 6750 rpm is comparable? Ferrari is 20% heavier.
How are they similar? Did you look at how power is delivered? The Ferrari probably produces more torque than the FTO at 2000rpm!!
To bring in some comedy, a Ford Falcon XR6T produces similar power to your car on a dyno but it double the most torque you can produce in your NA FTO at 2000rpm.
Except if your Bonnoz haha.
