Mate has one of those TSI Golfs which is a really nice car! For a small engine it does really well. Too bad it's broken down twice and is having it's engine replaced at 22000kms for a cracked head!!Bennoz wrote:Yeah ya see, that's all f**ken wrong. The slushbox will provide good easy launches and keep boost on in between gearchanges thanks to the stally. It will likely shift quicker than a lot of drivers too.
I wouldn't say stuff all dollars as the purchase price is still there.
I'm still not impressed![]()
Definitely with the 6 speed ZF auto, but just was implying easy speed from an auto.
But hey, i'm a jdm whore sooooo...
If i needed a taxi runabout with oomph and was gonna spend 60k... i'd go toyota aristo/chaser... get that 2j to 600hp, lowered a bit, nice fat set of work wheels and a subtle kit...and have lots of pocket change from 60k too. That'll keep falcodores honest!
For 60k you could have a real car, like a boosted A4!
Ok screw the car, just look at the engine of the FPV. The Miami engine pulling around 1800 kilos of weight with 1500 bucks of mods does 11's down the quarter. I don't care if it is a 2JZ you won't get as good bang for your buck from mods.
Also I highly doubt a Aristo/Chaser can out handle a taxi!
