1) Go and buy a G25
2) Go to http://www.simraceway.com and signup.
3) Download the simraceway client.
4) Download whatever tracks and cars that take your fancy.
5) Use the 1 click install option and it will install them for you using the client.

how does everyone mount their vid camera? mine fits perfectly in the hole in the passanger seat at the top but dosent give a very good angle. thinking on the rear parcel shelf somehow. or some kinda bracket that comes out from the passanger side seat

i think the operative word was 'everyone' :P

hand held while flooring it to 180 would be the right answer :P

haha lol!

The best spot would be mounted in the center of the front bar. This would give the best perspective and the best sense of speed. I've been meaning to buy a third camera to mount in front of the grille, just haven't got around to it yet...

actually only tried 150kmph holding a mobile phone(u can get a pretty good angle like this). the people at winton might not think this is such a good idea though lol.

id like a veiw that could see the tacho, speedo, road infront and steering wheel

and maybe hw i could possibly mnount from this area.

like the passanger side seat what sort of support can i make that could be easily removable and fairly sturdy?

With a camera such as the GoPro or the MD80, you probably won't have enough resolution to pick up the tacho or speedo anyway. The HD version GoPro should.

i think i will go on the 16th or the 23rd because id rather go to a test and tune. they said theres heaps of cars on the track on 'fun days' and u can only go 80 percent of the driver and the cars capability.

would still be good but its 2 and a half hours away from me so might aswell make the most of it. let me know how u go though

had a great day. hit and killed a wombat on the way, so we had meat for the BBQ.

managed to slide off after about 6 laps, pushing a bit hard. no damage (except from the wombat). I had 2 cars spin off in front of me, 1st one did 360 and carried on the 2nd slid into the tyre wall and put a lot of ripples down the side of his car.

you missed a good day.

shite, sounds like it. im going to winton on the 23rd of july, got myself a brand new open faced helmet and gonna make up a vid camera mount in my car.

anyone else interested in coming to winton on the 23rd? its a proper test and tune so its $120 to use the track and u can buy a liscence that lasts a year for $50 and its from 10am till 4 i think

went to winton on the 23rd and it was pretty awesome except there was a lot of fast cars, just finished uploading a video to youtube where im keeping up with a 261kw $220,000 PORSCHE CARRERA S for 2 whole laps!!!!!(think he/she must have been a bad/carefull driver)

it was my first session on the track and my first time ever on a track i did get better obiously. car would overheat after 3 or so fast laps, must be because when i put the stock exhaust back on i didnt have time to put the exhaust manifold heat sheild back on, took 70kgs outta my car before i went including sub box+ amps etc good for 34kgs alone

ass end likes to slide a fair bit for a fwd on the tight bends maybe its my tyres but i suppose i had no spare, jack, sub box etc to hold the ass end down.

Glad you had fun! :)

Overheating after 3 laps wont have anything to do with your exhaust.
It'll be something in the cooling system, start small, replace radiator caps, flush coolant etc. Then work up from there if it doesn't fix it.

As for the rear sliding about, have you had a wheel alignment recently? I'd be willing to wager a $50 on the fact the cars been lowered
and no ones bothered to re-align the rear toe settings... & rear toe out will steer your ass round you on a corner every time!

nah man the car hasnt been lowered, had new tyres less than a year ago so i think they would be balanced. probably just cheapo tyres that werte on it when i got it, no biggie their fine for the road and when i have my sub box and spare in the car it keeps the ass end down(wasnt sliding out too much just on the real sharp corners
