Just been looking at the ultraleds website. Quite interested in the interior dome lights, i believe these are what's used under the rear view mirror. But which size is correct for the fto?

sounds good Ruchi! hope the effect looks right (because it's what i'm thinking of doing - seems a bit tacky almost, to re-light my console/dash to match the stereo but hey )

how long did the dismantling / replacing process take?

It looks like Ruchi got peeved off at the cheap shots about his long informative posts thanks to some particular people...... you know who you are!

Now he has edited them all out and we are missing some really good info that he provided.

Maybe there should be the "Most valuable info per post" stat on this site rather than "average posts per day".

sure we would love to have him back, but with the recent spade of 'issues' that he's had with a certain number of other individuals (you know who you are), i can understand he's in need of a cooling off period...

Firstly, I'd like to thank those who have given me support, both publicly and privately (PMs). It's nice to know that some appreciate the information I have provided and have found it valuable. It's also great to know that some appreciate me being around these forums and the various events. Thank you.

Secondly, I can take as good as I give, and I believe a bit of friendly stirring, such as my long messages, Mikey's post count, Robb's avatar etc. can all be handled with fun. But in this case that was not the issue.

The issue was that I had spent a great deal of my personal time, providing an answer to a genuine question that someone had posted on this forum, a question which others who had responded were unable to answer, and then I got slammed for doing so. This was no longer being done in good humour, and it particularly hurt as it included some people who I considered friends, it also included some people who stupidly thought they'd jump on the band-wagon and get a kick in while I was down.

While I can handle the teasing about the long messages, and will in turn tease others about something they have done, and all this is in jest, I draw the line when I am attacked after investing so much of my time and knowledge to help this person out. Quite frankly, if you were unable to answer the question then rather than criticising the person that did provide the answer, perhaps you should just shut up and read the response, and hopefully it might also help you, even if at a later date.

Like I have said before, these forums are only valuable if the information they contain is accurate and factual, and is something that other owners of FTOs can use to help themselves with. While I welcome opinion and the expression of passion for the FTO, personally I draw the line at "wank factor" where people bullshit about what they have done or what can be done, just to show off. I also draw the line at anyone who has provided a valid response being attacked.

These forums can be a great resource for FTO owners, providing a wealth of knowledge, likewise they can help to foster a great sense of community for FTO owners, but only if they actually feel welcomed.

I have saved the most informative messages that I removed and will re-post them over the next couple of days. I will do so in a revised form (combining some of the messages) and will probably start a new topic, as some of the other threads had got off track and the information could easily get lost.

Well ruchi is great 2 c u bk 2 normal, but theres only few points i like to make.

There are lots of ppl including myself know that your posts are very imformative, & we all agree u help us out a lot, but sometimes they are a bit 2 long, therefore there are also a lot of ppl just skip the pages or the post all together. Some might appreciate a good informative answer, some just want a short answer.

I've notice if someone opposed your answer to the post, u get extremely upset, so chill out bro, i think everyone had thier choice of opion.

In the perfect world, all those engineering & physics will work 100% but unfortunaly we are not living in a perfect world. And just because someone know how to do it, doesn't mean that person can do it or the method the person mention will work.

Is like a 10yrs old know how to turn the steering wheel, change gears, & all the driving stuff cause he/she saw someone else done it before, but does that make he/she a compentent driver on the real road???

Anyway like i said before non of my post are informative, so i'm not having a go at u. I'm just making some "constructive critisism" please please please don't take it the wrong way

Let me be the first to say I don't have all the answers and I do value other peoples input and feedback. I have asked a number of questions on this forum, for stuff I was unsure about, and have learnt so much from those who responded.

I believe I have only reacted to two issues, and in both cases it was the other party who started the personal attack, not me. Granted, I fuelled the issue by responding to the attacks, so this is something I will try to avoid.

I will work on making the responses shorter, but sometimes people ask questions that need a detailed response, and sometimes concepts need to be explained so people can understand what's involved. Perhaps I can give them bite size chunks over multiple days, and allow others to respond to, rather than giving all the answers in one hit. That would make the messages smaller and in a size more digestible.

I dont see any reason for you to make your posts any shorter, cos the more info you provide the better the answer will be for some ppl and if they want a short answer they can just as easily PM you for one. If anyone out there doesn't want to read your long answers theres a little trick they can try its called 'Scroll down the page and read the next post' *Thinks I'm gonna get in trouble for being a smart ass *
