First of all, I've never done anything hands on to my car. But that's besides the point - Sure I'm basing my comments on what I've read and heard but is it not true that:
You have a much higher chance of successfully pulling off a conversion without ongoing problems than turbo'ing 6a12?
I'm not saying you can't do it, when I said "EASIER", I meant it's more efficient to do a conversion cos you have a higher chance of pulling it off. Just because you got yours right doesn't mean everybody else will.
If you have the money for it, at least you know exactly what it is that you have to do with a much less chance of something going wrong and in the end more potential to pull more power?
Do I need to have done this myself to say any of that?
Honestly, the thing that sparked me off is the way you completely disregard everybody's opinion and start flaming them. When koolio posted his comment, you over reacted way too much. Then again, in the post which you started with "Well this thread has got quite heated", you're correcting people who know far more about it than you ever will.
And as for cleaning up the thread - The first sh*t you need to cut out is the way you talk to people. Didn't you get banned from these very forums for doing the same thing couple of years back?
I don't think you're in any position to clean up anything unless you cut yourself out of the thread altogether. Seriously, pull your head out of your own ass and have some respect when you talk to people instead of blowing up at them.
EDIT:
And pete_gpx's comment was fkn idiotic. The way he wrote is posts is exactly what we don't need on these forums, he's sparking arguements and you're egging him on? Yea, great job you're doing.

The only thing that i have said that could even be close to being called abusive was me telling Mr C to pull his head out of bens ass and i can say stuff like that to him cause we know each other and say sh*t like to each other all the time. Mr C knows i was only joking and was hardly offended by it.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt to explain yourself & the best you can do is "It's what I heard everyone else saying"???
FFS mate, Back up your posts with some facts & you won't get flamed, simple as that..
Seriously, I don't see how it is so hard to keep posts to factual information & not just "this is what I heard everyone saying"
For example;
Turbo conversion:
- $6k-10k
+/- 50-60 FWkw increase
Turbo conversion + forged Internals:
- $10-25k
+/- 100 FWkw
decrease
Supercharger conversion
- $5k-7k
+/- 40-50 FWkw increase
6a13 Turbo conversion
- $10k-30k+
+/- 170 - 200 FWkw increase
NOS setup:
-$2-3k -
+/- 40 FWkw increase
6a13 Turbo + NOS:
- $10-30k + $2-3k
+/- 180- 250 FWkw increase + faster turbo spool (Chance of blowing something up cause it hasn't been done yet)
I'm not going to go into any specifics, but I would suggest that you go & read through the Turbo section .. specifically read through Jeff & Danny's 6a13 conversions ..
Before I bought this car I made it a point to read the entire thing cover to cover & extract every bit of info that related to problems that were encountered throughout the process..

Mr C - I think you missed the point completely. That doesn't make me a hypocrite. Pete_gpx abused somebody else in the same manner simon did (which was my problem to begin with), me writing that comment makes me a hypocrite how?
Once again, me having read it and heard doesn't make it wrong, what I wrote are facts, which you yourself proved by your comment above, 6a13 = more worthwhile due to it being the safer way for forced induction with more overall power gains with less risks of problems arising. You reading the whole thread or 10 books on mechanical engineering doesn't change a thing, you missed my point entirely, if you can't figure out the simple message I'm getting across, forget it.

i have a 6a12T @ 6psi putting out 267BHP or 199.1 KW
I also have a 6a12T @ 11psi i dont know what the power is yet as im waiting for it to be mapped

(iv built one 6a12T MIVEC decompressed running 11psi)
and I own another 6a12T MIVEC uncompressed running 6psi
So iv seen both aspects of turboing the 6a12 MIVEC

Oil starvation thats cr4p too sounds to me like somone had a dodgey engine. (yes im upgrading my oil pump but thats just to have a good condition one fitted and to have more pressure
Cam incompatibility again thats ca4p.
I have adjustable camgears and i got these custom made for my more powerfull setup and I dont actually need to adjust them at all but to perfect it im going to retard the intake cam slightly.
furthermore mivec and boost... best setup for that is lowering the mivec point to where im building boost from as will be running i higher profile cam the whole way through boost rather than waiting till the turbo starts to max out

@d_dan, nice mate very well put. Seriously if i hear the words oil starvation again im gonna go mental. Your comment about mivec turbo being more common than gr, i completely agree, there is way more mivec ones and anyone who has done the tinest bit of research would know this.
@ Mr C, dont worry mate once all the fun is over i will split the thread again so people dont have to read all the bs.
