does having so many carbonfibre parts fitted on an FTO (with even more to come), esp in Melbourne make it rare then??:P

what about the FTO EV - was that purely a concept car or did it actually go into production, coz if it did then it'd be as rare as the holy grail LoL...

i agree with mikey about having sense of humour

some people are more expressive than others and speak with more attitude, in the case of kevin i think he somehow ends up pissing people off without really meaning to, you just gotta know how to take it in your stride and reply back accordingly or just ignore it rather than adding fuel to the fire.

but seriously it does make this forum look bad to new comers

now talking about rare things.. hmm my car? having the stock wheels seems a bit rare these days! i quite like the look especially when the car is lowered nicely... and the wheels look quite good as long as you keep it clean...

i did wanna say though that only 48 votes seems a bit disappointing to me...

and i was expecting a lot more tips than manuals...

Firstly everything to follow is just my personal opion no insult is intended to anyone but these threads are starting to go south again!

Ok I'm with G1 I find this all very entertaining (I have not life...)but I understand that people are becoming upset with a lot of the comments being made. I believe that a lot of it is just people taking what is simply a "sh*t stirring" comment and taking it the wrong way (I understand that some of it is a personal attack on the poster but most are not).

I think some people need to take criticism alittle bit better, after all criticism is just another persons opion on the subject and if you have the right to give your opion then so do they (provided that their not just making a stab at the other person). As for the comment about the swearing this is a public forum so swearing is going to happen, it happens everywhere else in public, its a part of life.

As for moderating the posts I personally do not like the idea of changing someones post unless its blatently offensive, I believe in free speech and if someone has a different view even if its wrong they have the right to express it cos there isn't one person on this or any other forum that knows everything... People just need to be careful about how they word their replies so as to not offend people...

Basically dont take things so seriously there are people on this forum who do not have much technical knowledge including myself that feel left out cos they cant contribute to the "FTO Family" that we have so the only way they can feel apart of it is to make off topic posts and joke about stuff now surely everyone here can tolerate this. Just keep in mind some off us are not tech gurus and for people like me we were born Spammers...

Any ways just try to enjoy yourselves and dont kill each other
and feel free to disagree with me...

Robb...

I've moved on.k

Rarety= There way more Tips than manuals, especially when you look at sites like Auto trader. I saw 6 ftos (in WA) for sale and all of them were tips.

PS Rare means a lot of things. This topic should be called, What fto have you got and what trans.

Ultimately the administrators and moderators of this forum will guide where it goes and the type of people it will attract. I think it is indicative of where the forum is at when at least one of the moderators, until recently, was actively posting the kinds of messages we are refering to.

At the risk of getting flammed (or even banned), I think the likes of both Steve and Mikey either don't want to guide these forums, or don't have a vision of where to take them, other than as a possible revenue source. Perhaps it's just not important to them. :(

I like statistics, because although they can be manipulated to a certain degree, ultimately if you look hard enough you can see the truth underneath. And I think the statistics of registered members versus active members tells the truth about how people feel about participating in these forums. :!:

Lal said it, and I've said it, and I believe that many others think it, that a lot of people either don't use these forums or have stopped using these forums because of the personal attacks and diminishing sense of community. As often happens, it appears that the issues are mainly caused by a loud minority, yet the result is effecting the quiet majority. Unless there is some leadership and guidance from the administrators and moderators it's unlikely to improve much.

I think these forums have a lot of potential, both as an information source and as a way to foster a sense of community for FTO owners. It's unfortunate that people are getting attacked for the information they provide and that they don't feel welcome. :?

I completely agree Ruchi.

I have talked to a few ppl in canberra, about these forums, and most of them aren't regulars due to that fact.

Another problem i find is that threads get turned upside down due to these disputes, just like this thread.

Maybe, once an argument starts, Mikey or Steve should move these comment & arguments to a new thread, that way the ppl that are trying to participate in the original thread can do so with out the noise, and the ppl that are fighting can do so in their own thread.

Now, that's just what i think :D

Now, does anyone here have, an answer to the question that i asked ages ago, about the production numbers of different colours?

..

Yeah or maybe some of us not so active members actually don’t feel the need to post comments over a public domain and are happy to be observers rather then participators. While others might just have better things to do with their time. I don’t think it necessarily means there’s a problem with the administrators or moderators, I think you may need to consider that they too have lives outside the forums and are doing the best they can. I’m sure you would be more then happy to take over the role as a moderator since you seem to spend so much time on here anyways (which there is nothing wrong with coz so do I at times) but I honestly don’t think they have done such a bad job. We don’t need nazi forum moderators telling people what to say and what not to say, people just need to have some common sense. This is just the internet and sh*t will happen. Move on.

Nimz, I understand that there are a number of people who prefer to observe than participate, but these are not the people we're refering to, rather as mentioned by Boris and Lal and others in other threads, there are many people who feel unwelcomed here and either won't post due to the fear of being attacked or who are offended by the attacks others have made. And this is the issue we are refering to.

Since you want to discuss the moderators more, lets do that, and lets look at Mikey as the most active of these. Although Steve own/runs this forum, he is listed as just a "moderator" whereas Mikey is listed as the "administrator". Yet even as the person with the highest authority on this site, up until recently he was actively involved in the off-topic personal attacks, such as the many "*~delightful!~*" comments he made to Kevin and others. So if the leaders of this online community are going to behave like that what do you expect?

If a moderator doesn't moderate, then what do they do? And if they have the time to be the #1 poster on the forum, then surely they have the time to moderate, after all, their influence will be felt in the forum more than anyone elses, and they will have a greater input into the direction the forum heads in.

It would be interesting to see just how many members we had left, if the administrator deleted all those who have not logged in within the last 6 or 12 months.

In terms of being a moderator, I have absolutely no desire to spend my time helping someone else build what appears to be an ever incresaing commercial venture, for free. So the answer there is no.

i have warned you all earlier that if this thread does not relate back to topic soon, I am gonna lock it down.

...yet it appears some individual here can never move on and they just have to keep digging the sh*t up from the grave and start another shitfight... do you really think that's gonna make this forum any better??

well that's 3 strikes down and I'm out of patience! I've tried to be fair to everyone, yet there appears to be no end in sight because certain individual here has problems letting go...

FFS - get a bloody life alright?!

edit:
there are many people who feel unwelcomed here and either won't post due to the fear of being attacked or who are offended by the attacks others have made. And this is the issue we are refering to.

Since you want to discuss the moderators more, lets do that, and lets look at Mikey as the most active of these. i feel compelled to make a defensive stand on my part as well as others concerned because i feel that this remark is aimed at me personally, no matter how you read it. whether you like it or not, read and suck it in...

1/ you keep referring to so-called 'personal attacks', yet until now i am yet to come across any substantial evidence to back-up your claims. i have not personally attacked anyone on purpose on this forum since I joint these boards. (did you really think a forum moderator is really that stupid to stoop to such low standards in front of its members??) if you can find any evidence of me doing so, feel free to present them. Since becoming a moderator I have had very minimal escalations brought against me, but yet in all that time I cannot say the same thing about you on numerous occassions.

2/ as mentioned by Steve, I don't have admin access on this forum and everybody know he's the boss afterall... if you have a problem with the way this forum is run, go find yourself another forum or run your own.

3/ the "*~delightful!~*" comments which you refer to, Kev knows that these are off-topic jokes which belongs in the Gibberish Corner where it should be, and no offence was taken. I am pretty confident 99% of viewers who saw those jokes took it as nothing more than a joke, but if you took offence to those remarks, then maybe you should learn how to have some sense of humor in you, ....or there is something about you that we are not aware of??

4/ i may be a moderator in this forum, but i am not a robot. like you i also have my say and the right to enjoy my time here online... that said, my behaviour here does not necessarily reflect others in the committee board... unlike you i know my boundaries, because i know when to take things lightly or seriously...

5/ if the leader(s) of this online community have to deal with ppl like you who always take things seriously way out of context and causing friction with other members, how easy do you expect being a mod can be?

i have said this so many times before it's not funny, but for the sake of getting this message thru for the good of all - THIS IS AN INTERNET FORUM, AND sh*t HAPPENS. BUILD A BRIDGE AND GET OVER IT.

My rant ends here. I consider this as my final say in defence to the unfair vilification (one that is based on unsubstantiated claims) being brought against me, personally.

Have a nice day everyone. Let's move along. ;)

ruchi,
just one comment.

It doesn't matter to me whether i show up as moderator or administrator, i have full admin access through another login (for security reasons)

Mikey has admin access (to the forums) as i accidentally sent him up as one and i trust him and he has yet to demonstrate to me that he can not be trusted with it.
