yeah, this is something i've been looking at for a while,
been considering getting a set of Eclipse LED's
and either modifying them to fit the FTO taillight housing,
or modifying the rear of the FTO to fit them -

hey dstocks, do you think it'll be possible for your contacts
to manufacture these for the FTO from scratch?
was thinking that the smaller circle of LED's could be
indicator yellow on the outside & reverse light white on the inside.

as far as legality?
just sell them on the basis of "for showcar purposes only - non ADR approved"
to my knowledge ADR approval costs a freakin fortune.

Closest thing you'd find would likely be Corvette lights .. I think I came across some that were for a 'C4'
But you will pay through the nose for them.. quite the expensive..

I'll try & track down some other ones I found back when I was looking for some.

Doesnt hurt to ask. Mark is travelling to Japan and Tiawan in the next month and will be speaking to light manufacturers in Tiawan anyway. Any info I can get to take with him will help

anyone want to sell me a set of taillights, i'll do the LED thingo. I like doing those fiddly little modifications. It wouldnt be that that hard to just get all the super-brights from dick smiths and creating a mini housing sealing the LED's in clear epoxy, and fitting that into the main housing.
It would just be time consuming. it wouldnt be as tidy as the kaze's but the imagination is the llimit
