bought that kit off ebay. should be here by end of week.

and ill be installing it this weekend. already have a bung in my exhaust before my cat purposely for tuning

didnt help having 4 exhausts and trying to get a reading. so should be sweet!
shane what settings do you have on you emanage for the Parameter settings > CH Settings in order to get the knock sensor to work? i havent tried this yet and it wasnt set up. Dodgy autocraft grrr...
also looking into getting either a oil pressure or temp gauge? or both? i have a sandwich plate with the bolts to connect the unit up to. but i have to drain the oil in order to install yes? sigh just did that on sunday when i changed oil

but sshould be another good investment. i do have an aftermarket oil cooler as well so whats better to have gauge wise?

First up you'll need one of these. Order it from Perfectrun u should have it in a couple of days, or ring around Aus someone may have one in stock.
15900912 A/F Option Port Harness
I'll send you through the setup for it tonight.

ordered one from rhdjapan.com.au
as i bought my injector adapter off them. doubt ill have it in time for the weekend but i can wait.
should be receiving my innovate over the next two days. looks like ill be putting it in over the weekend.
a pic of your set up would be awesome.
also just playing with my map been driving around and adding fuel where i think its lacking. ive actually made some impressive improvements. in places where its right or getting almost right i get sudden bursts of speed. its awesome.
caint wait too get the innovate in
also hows the settings for the knock sensor going? i would love them
looking good guys! be visiting the tuner over the weekend too to book in a time for him to finalise everything. should be much cheaper with my baseline tune or even finer adjustments made.
oh and ill post up some data logs ive got from the ultimate. my ignition timing is all over the place. youll see what i mean when i put it on.
the emanage ultimate really is awesome!
stay tuned...

It is a pretty cool bit of kit eh
A bit more expensive and a lot more complicated than the Haltech to install, but a lot more potential. I can't wait to get mine fully working. As well as the Innovate I'm planning to wire an LED to the dash and configure the warning light to light this LED under engine knock. With the Innovate and this light I can safely tune at the track
And I love the fact you can log just about everything lol!

hey shane .. do you know of any decent tuning guides?
I would love to get my hands dirty doing some tweaking..

that sounds like a good safe setup you'll have going there. theres a track day down here on the 4th of June. might attend and get my tuning hat on.
yeah the logging is so interesting. especially when the ARF Meter will be attached with knock and being able to compare different variations of maps!
do you have any issues with your signal to your laptop falling out? mine does. its really annoying.
any knowledge as to why?

oh and also i cant get any vehicle speed readings. i tried all the vehicle speed pulse's but none of them showed up a reading

alright have got a sample from my logs. i need someone to tell me whether the ignition timing looks normal? its all over the place at idle. Have a look below
Red Line - RPM
Yellow - Ignition
Orange - Throttle Position
Dark Blue - Pressure Sensor
Purple - I/J Adjustment Map
Light Blue - Water Temp
Note knock and speed input NA
i took it driving to work this morning
and below is a zoomed in bit of the graph
ive got everything down pat knowledge wise except for ignition timing.
havent gotten the knock sensor working yet either.
Received my innovate today cant wait to put it in!
ALright so plan for weekend is:
$14/28 point safety check at pedders to sus out bent drivers side rear (hub?)
Inspect eManage wiring and double check everything is connected properly. Cant get speed reading or knock sensor working (knock sensor needs jumper setting changed is my guess)
Install wideband o2 sensor and gauge. Havent got harness to connect to eManage yet, enroute from japan. Test. Get running then drive around and sus out AFR's and adjust accordingly.
Find issue with Oil Temp Gauge and fix. Doesnt light up or work or anything hmm.
Check oil levels.
Finally clean out car.
Wash Car
Fun weekend ahead!!!

^^ Looks like u'll need a couple of weekends to get through all that
Yeah knock sensor will likely be your jumper setting.
Not sure on the timing jumping around. Will compare to my when I fire it up this afternoon. Finished re wiring it in last night. Just need to upload the new settings and cross my fingers real tight

Well i have all day tomorrow and sunday so hopefully i get it done!
Yeah it must be the jumper setting cos i can get the intake temp and water temp working but not the knock sensor.
itll be good to have something to compare to as well.
cant wait to get the innovate in and actually see how the thing is running.
then i wanna get the timing sorted. this thing has so much potential just by adding fuel its got way more torque and top end.
just imagine getting some proper timing into it!

with the innovate ill know exactly what im doing so should be good.
Fingers crossed

ok soooo today has been interesting.
Started bright and early and took the car to pedders. and well. what can i say i was shocked when i saw this
now that is the rear tires....
the fronts were fine. but well the rears. that says it all right there. they said the drivers side (which i thought is bent) has still got adjustment and etc so its ok. but the passenger side is all maxed out (though it was fine) they cant pull in the toe. thing is though they didnt actually try but they showed me the bolts on the traileing arms. explains my cars handling. that is a lot of toe... my tires and being eaten alive.. so im on the search for a whole new rear arms and hubs. want both sides just incase they're both stuffed... or is this too excessive? i guess if the passenger side is bent it would explain the creaking noises?
anyways after going home i started on my other jobs!
first thing was to rip out my centre console and attempt and fix my oil temp gauge. Now this one says mitsubishi motors on it. does this mean its a factory option? taking the top bit off it became obvious that the plug was not connected to the gauge so i plugged it in. turned ignition on the needle shot straight up to 150 degrees celsius, now this ibviously isnt right. but this means a bad ground yes? power and ground cable are connected then a black and white cable go through the firewall and attached to the sump. i couldnt trace the wire so i dont know whats going on here
after think thats enough of that i started with the innovate. now the only good thing autocraft did was to put a bung in my exhaust exactly where i needed it for this. i connected all the wiring up which was a mission and a half. lots of soldering and cut fingers. then set up and calibrated the kit. only annoying thing was the wiring to connect it to my laptop was a serial port not a usb and i dont have the right port. so annoying! got it running after 4 hours oof messing around and other things and we got readings. i then tried to open up the circuit board of my eManage to change some jumper settings but couldnt cos i didnt have the right sized allen key. seems to be a special size. that annoyed me. then i uncovered the big wirey mess which i also had to chheck but gave up and left it for tomorrow as i was running out of light.
put everything back together and went for a spin. really interesting. i had got most of the points around 12-13 for the AFR's by guess and check

with a couple of 14-15 which ill sort out once i get the harness for the emanage to be able to connect it up. only concerning thing is. say your doing 3rd gear 4000 rpm and lift off the accelerator my car runs innsanely lean. like over 21.9 this happens at all times of deceleration. this explains why once it gets down to 1500 it like has little spurts and raises the rpm by 500 probably cos it doesnt have enough petrol. i dont know how to fix this. the engine also gets hot and water temp rises by 5 degress. funny cos when i went through the rev range it cooled down then when i slowed down and idle it heated up.
one last thing even when im at what with my accelerator pedal the emanage only reads this as 88% open on the data log. does this matter?
give you another update tomorrow night after my next attack.
things are looking good

thats bugger all out at the rear just bit to much camber on left and not enough on right.
Why did they not try to adjust it? as by adjusting camber it changes toe at same time, then you can individually adjust toe after......
another dodgy pedders special?

yeah pretty much. and considering they didnt ask me for the $14 im a bit skeptical whether their head was screwed in properly that morning. they didnt adjust it cos i was only getting it "checked" im going to go to my usual alignment dude and get him to just do a rear wheel alignment and stiiffen my shocks in the rear.
entering in a dyno day downhere on the 5th of june. includes print out of AFR's and power etc. should be good to see the improvement my tune has done
might even have a chance of winning the 2L NA category

a prize would be nice hahaha
i wish things from japan would send faster i need that harness to fine tune!
also might be booking her in to get even more fine tuned and he timing looked at
oh and finally it is normal for the engine to run lean when engine braking yes? as there is no load on the engine yes? I NEED TO KNOW!

Ended up taking my car to Bridgestone to do my wheel alignment (where i bought tires from etc) and well.... the front is perfect! but. The rear.... meh
they could only make the right rear wheel -.3 of camber and could only pull in the left side to -1.5 of camber.
they are both maxed out... seems as though i have bent both sides. this is not a good thing.
whats the easiest cheapest way to get it more on track? is it worth it? at least the toe is right now so it goes in a straight line.y
wasnt the best news!
oh and harness came from Japan for AFR. will be hooking all that up today/sunday and get rid of quite a few lean spots.

alright update time.
Just got home from a dyno day run.
With my tune i got flat 12.5 AFR across the board haha i was suprised to see how good the AFR's were.
and I did this tune unlike the retards at autoshaft. Was fun tuning it too
i now have average 225NM of torque at the wheels across the whole rev range at what. it fluctutates up and down as does the power curve. does anyone know why?
im very happy with the torque the accelartion is awesome.
Overall power is not so great. only got 104kw at the front wheels.
but boy did it sound tough. i had my laptop hooked up but i forgot to record the data log during the power run which is sooo annoying. Also the run was done in 3rd gear. this is right yes?
and my emanage mustnt be wired in properly as i cant deactivate the speed limit so it cut out aat 180km/h
ignition timing is to be tuned in the next few weeks. had a bit of a financial mess at the moment.
this is where the real power gains will rise i believe

Did you do a dyno run befor all this work was done?
I can't recall if you did or not

I thought dyno runs were 4th gear but im not 100%...
Are you sure the wheels weren't spinning giving you the fluctuations and making you hit the speed limiter? or rev limiter? Not sure how you ccould hit hte speed limiter in 3rd or 4th i dont think it revs high enough.

ill post up the dyno sheets tomorrow hopefully so you guys get what i mean.
i have a 4 speed tip. in 3rd at the rev limiter it hit 180.
i dont know if the wheels were spinning i was in the car. i doubt they were?
