Re: DIY/Alcoholic Beverage Day 8th July
I need to test my mirror's switch (if they fold or not). I know the passenger side mirror motor has gone kaput (replacement on its way from Dwayne). Just wanted to confirm that the switch is working fine.
Anyone willing to let me swap their working (folding) GPX mirrors on my car for a minute?
Also....anyone knows how to clean an ABS sensor?

Hes coming round to mine this weekend and testing my spares off the wreck. Will be as simple as unbolting his and putting mine in to test, then if it works we can take the motor out and then swap it out - simple

Naah, no need to take the switch out. I know for sure one of my mirrors don't work..the other is...well...counting it's last breath....so its far easier to swap the mirrors than swapping the switch.PHIL069 wrote:Would be easier to put your switch into someones FTO and test
Am just hoping at least the drivers side of yours work! Sahin said one of yours doesn't...just hoping it's not the drivers sideTaz wrote:Hes coming round to mine this weekend and testing my spares off the wreck. I found a nasty 8 legged surprise inside when I opened my mirrors that other day.....and I have arachnophobia....thank God it was dead...but damn it was a huge one!

Re: DIY/Alcoholic Beverage Day 8th July

We have approval guys!
100% Go ahead on this

There will be a BBQ for sure, ill provide an esky with softdrinks and 2 dozen sausages, pork sausages!
Phi if you still wanna bring some hotdog buns that'd be sweet! Feel free to chip in, i'll keep your food if you have it left over

I'd just like to say I still don't want any oil changes, yeah ill accept brake bleeding if we do change some rotors over, but yeah its a clean new driveway

I've already made a mess of my garage floor haha.
Make sure if you have tools to bring them and JACKS! and STANDS!. Can never have too many!
And if your going to spraypaint, newspaper, newspaper, newspaper i dont have any

I reckon if yous rocked up at 8.30am - 9.00am that'd probably be perfect, Id say we will go to sundown. Probably sounds best.
Here's some pics of the working area, there will be no cars besides FTO's on the driveway on this day, and the garage can be used if there needs to be some soldering done.
The pictures do make it look small, but its a pretty big area in the middle!
I'll also be using a GO PRO, for some awesome footage of the day, In timelapse and what not.
I hope yous achieve some progress on bringing your FTO's up to tip top shape with mods or just some restoration

And yes your mine unfortunately won't be ready in time. :'(
