Anyone know of any good roads to take on the way down from QLD?

Id be surprised if there wasnt a group going down from Sydney. Get a hold of Bennoz, rockit, or some of the other Sydney members and find out when they are going. I know taffysturbo is trying to hook up with a group in Woolongong as well.
Might have convinced bushido to turn up too!
As to roads from QLD, I think the road through Armidale is best for the first section. If you can manage to do putty road on the way through Sydney that has some nice twisties. And Clyde mountain pass is about 10 minutes from my place (and on the way) and that can be fun too. I know some of the others sometimes do Kangaroo valley as well.

i'm trying to organise a meet up for anyone who doesn't want to go down alone.

I thought that the route we took last time was brilliant, much better than the 1st one we did. Nice and early meet up at Pheasants Nest. Only problem is, I can't remember the way after that. We went into Batemens Bay for breakfast and supplies (ice etc) first then headed to Dwaynes. If Aza can give me them directions I'll be happy to lead a group from there early on Saturday.

ok what time do you expect to be in Batemans?
PM me some phone numbers so I can meet you in Batemans. I will be over nighting in Narooma. so only have about a 1 1/2 hour drive to Batemans.

Thanks Aza, looks quite straight forward. I've not checked out LOLcar's new thread yet but I'll be happy to lead this. Tarkus, it's 3 hours to B.Bay. Should we meet there at 9am? I'll PM you my number now.

i agree the way we took last year was great (besides the rain) so good ive been using the same route ever since... the woolongong way isnt as fun but has some preety scenery

im up for a pheasants nest meetup, I really enjoyed last years kangaroo valley run, hopefully not as foggy this time

it doesn't look like my car will be ready in time to drive down, so it looks like I will be flying down @ this point ..
does anyone have a spare seat avail from Syd > dwaynes & back?

Did some boring maths.
To make it to and from my place with a distance of 650kms I have to average 13.08l/100kms
hmmmmmm
I remember I got damn close last year but chickened out and filled in goulburn

didnt know when the next pit stop would be so i filled up aswell
it will be $40 max there and back for petrol this time
