Actually, the majority of it was done by the shop. I really only did the battery to boot lines.
nvr2low wrote:haha did it cost you a arm and a leg buddy i heard they are very exxy mate.

How much did all the coating cost mate?

Did you get all your intercooler piping done eg. both sides from turbos and to the throttle body.

I thought you would have gone red as this is the colour of your car mate.
Dunno about cost, they keep working, I keep throwing wads of cash at them. Not seen an invoice for a while now..

Nope, only piping that was done was the turbo feed pipes. They carry the air at the hottest point.

Went for blue to match all the blue pipe couplings :) The red will be on the engine cover.

Nah, just fired up. It'll go on the dyno tomorrow I imagine. No need to run it in.

Im excited, Im f#*king excited.

Just got off the phone to the lads at the shop, they're excited too.

The first preliminary tune saw 227kw at the wheels @ 13 psi. However they have a bunch of problems

The trivial things include:
6A13 alternator is no good for this setup - need to use 2 pin GR alternator.
Power steering leak
Clutch air leak (master or slave)
Nasty noise in (recently rebuilt) gearbox

Those things aside, it wants to make more power. The waste gates are failing to hold pressure over 13 psi. So I need to source uprated waste gates. The coil packs are also failing at high rpm & are unable to supply good spark, so we need to uprate those too.

On top of all of this, we can make much more power up high if we use vernier cam gears. At the moment, when it made 227kws, it was running 29 degrees retarded in the timing 8O

So, they boys think it will make about 260-270kws at the wheels when these issues are sorted.

And we haven't even turned the nos on yet

Final figure should be around 340kws.

f**k, not bad at all mate. I'd love to see the look on your face when you heard the news.

To help with your problems
1. Petegpx has a 2pin alternator that should do the trick for ya. Of course dstocks would probably have one too

2. You'll come across a lot of standard tubing/piping getting melted with the new found power..i.e. power steering line

3. Look into splitfire coilpacks if they're made for the 6a13. These are in my 33 atm & are f**ken awesome. Spose to be able to withstand some serious modification as well

4. 4g63 and 93's are known to be able to release massive amounts of power after messing with the timing... Sounds like the 6a13 is not different :D Get the cams!!

It was like xmas

Well I've got the 2 pin alternator off the old motor, will take that down today. Am also searching for the other parts as we speak.

f**ken wicked ben.

Let me know how you go with the coil packs. Mine has a miss/hesitation when it she gets hot. I have replaced the leads and it feels much better but i do believe using coil packs from a 14yr old car that wasnt meant to be turbo'ed they will only last a short time

Congrads...thats some awesome power. Your gonna need biceps like the hulk to hold that torque steer at bay

Hope the gearbox isue isn't serious. Is it under warranty?
