The owner was going overseas and also has a new WRX toy to rice up for when he gets back. He wasn't the guy that did it up however.
I don't like how the doors were done but you seriously have to see the sh*t in the flesh to actually get a feel for it. My camera washes out the light colour and doesn't get the blue too accurately either. :S Not to mention it will look completely different on everyones screens... the beuaty of colour and the digital revolution. Not like print media that's for sure.
Still I don't think they were the best colours to begin with... and I'd have done in a darker and different direction.
The black door handle looks shocking on the light backing imo. A big mistake.

When I saw those photos on carsales I was both attracted and repulsed... from the exterior and interior respectively. Needless to say the
"problem" could be remedied with some work.
When I went to see it I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't look as bad as it does in photo's. It's not a baby blue as seen there and the white/grey looks completely different its more of a sandy colour I guess. At any rate the blue in that photo is quite a few years old... perhaps it's just faded to something I find more acceptable.
While I still don't love the colour madly... it is much nicer in the flesh these days then as it looks in that picture. I wish the wheels were as nice as they are in those shots though

they need some serious cleaning.

Anyway the funny points I note of my experience of buying the FTO in question.
All my mates said:
1) FTO's look like arse (aka sh*t).
2) FTO's are girls cars.
After seeing the car photos:
1) "Wow that interior sucks"
2) "Hot on the outside, what happened inside?"
3) etc etc
After seeing the car in the flesh:
1) "this isn't so bad!"
2) "niceeeeeeeee"
etc etc.
The eye is of the beholder yes, but sometimes photos don't do a car justice. What I mean to say is the photo's everyone always links to are a few years old and also in this case oversaturated with colour that simply doesn't seem to be there.
It's like my casio camera which I can wack into a "sunset mode" ... it takes awesome sunset shots. It seems to find colour in the sky that the human eye cant see and puts it onto the photo haha it's crazy cool but it's just not real

the blue just ain't that blue... hard to show you with a photo... can only be seen in real life. The chrome sh*ts me though, no doubt about it, try driving it in the sun with no sun glasses. Ugh.
Oh and for the record I sighted a car on the Sunshine Coast with the "U Like" license plate, it's no longer an FTO... can't recall what it is now... might have been an audi or something ... my memory fails me - sorry.

Additionally if you wanted a closer look at the car borep (to look at how the interior looks/whatever), It's still in brisbane and we could meet up somewhere when I have some spare time. I wish you the best of luck with the interior

Throw up some more photo's... bigger ones preferably
