bidpitty, why waste the money for a turbo setup? Just raise the boost a bit on a smaller engine
Also, considering internals are forged, and cam is upgraded 12.5:1 should be ok with a good tune as compression inside the cylinder still wont be too high with the right cam in it
I am sure Dave knows his sh*t!

This would go into any auto or manuel vehicle yes an auto model would see a significant improvemnet because of te torque.
We origonall built this as a n/a excercise because FTO and turbo's are not the easiest thing to do and the origonal enquiry was from a race car team who wanted the engine.
Once we started getting pistons etc made it was a case of stuck with n/a as this motor.
But we could build it as a turbo motor easily by changing the pistons and using a turbo profile camshaft, but to be honest, for teh cost I woudl just stick with the 2.5 DOHC non mivec setp if your going turbo.
This design is really optimised for naturally aspirated.

So what your trying to say is instead of paying the $$$ for this N/A engine your better off just turboing it ??bigpitty1 wrote:If I had this engine I probably won't even turbo it, I probably won't do anything to the engine, its pretty much perfect a work of art, what I ment with a turbo version is insted of having all the goodies for an N/A, just have a turbo in place.
Depends on what u want to do i know i would rather a kick arse N/A than a unreliable Turbo setup.
Whoever gets this engine will have the quickest N/A FTO by far !

i reckon a mild / safe turbo setup would make the same power or less than this hybrid would anyway... 40+ more kws atw something like that? and would be more reliable for.. 'belting' etc
although imo this engine should have one of the greatest gains from raising the literidge because standard, the 2L dohc 24v mivec makes the same powere as the 3.5l sohc 24v magnas motor (from memory), and thats got 2.5L's more... Mitsiman had a customer with a rare 3.0L mivec motor imported from japan custom mated to a manual trans, and that made a properly impressive amount of HP with simple mods, not sure the exact figures, but i dont think it had all the high compression stuff.
