Depending of the offset of the wheel... but its generally the inside of the arches that cops the rubbing. I've seen a number of FTO's with the issue - mine included!

Would it happen 2 my fto if I put 18s in? I've got adjustable coil over suspension ?? would it rub even if i roll the guards??

Rolling the gaurds is not the issue - its rubs on the inner side of the arches, like on the plastic that shield the engine from the wheel.

To avoid it, you need to find a wheel with the correct offset. Ie offset out towards the outside of the car, or offset towards the inside of the wheel arch.

Here is a cross sectional pic of a rim - to avoid rubbing on the inside, you want a rim like the one on the far right and vice versa.



To compensate for the rubbing I had, I used spacer plate (which are illegal) and used a anti lift suspension bush - which pushes the whole suspension arm (and wheel) both forwad & outward.

If your a bit bamboozled by all of this, I recommend you go to a rim shop & try a few on. Its the only way to know for sure....

Once you have selected a rim with the correct offset, you then need to match it with the right tyre size to also avoid more scrubbing.

Using these rims with the matching tyre sizes will not cause rubbing against the wheel arches.

Yup, panel house can do them brand new for $125 a pop I believe (correct me if Im wrong Mark)
