Takes cool nerves to do that. All too easy to go the brake option. Thats what most people do in that situation. Saw it happen to a caravan I was following once too. Wouldnt have liked to be the one retrieving the wheel. Must have travelled a good 300m over a couple of barbed wire fences before coming to rest.
