I got my 2nd hand SAFC for $200 last yr. If you look around different forum you should able to find plenty of 2nd hand one.
SAFC are basic tune for Air & Fuel Ratio. Any Piggyback can do a lot more then that.
I don't know how much gain i get until a dyno tune, & i don't like guessing

Im getting a ecu and exhaust done soon, just cant decide on which ecu to get...
I know that the unichip works well and u can get a lot of gains from it, but im thinking the Greddy ultimate but havent heard of anyone with one as yet. Do i go with something i know will work well or take a chance and get the ultimate and hope it get the same gains or even more..
If you using a good tuner, most "piggyback" ECU don't have much different.
Keep in mind "piggyback" & stand alone are different, with stand alone, I found there are lots of different between brands.

mines booked in for a dyno next friday...right after WR as it happens..I planned to talk to the boys at revZone about how much they can fit one for..if its good I will get it done..also i wouldn't mind to hear their thoughts on the matter..
Been looking into this myself recently as I map out my modification plans...
A mate has a Integra running an e-manage, he loves it - apparently very easy to have retuned after additional modification...
I'm not really up on the whole piggyback thing! What EXACTLY is the purpose of one of these units?
If I Had A Dollar For Every Time Someone Said "If I Had A Dollar For Every Time Someone Said <...>" Well... Then... I'd... Have A Dollar For Every Time Somone Said "If I Had A Dollar For Every Time Someone Said <...>"!!!
Well i just compared the emanage and the ultimate and looking at it you might aswell go for the ultimate as it does excately what the emanage does plus more...
Both smorrison & kaveman run these - they spend more time on the track than most. They are very competitively priced. Email them for your local distributor & price. I had credit card in hand about to buy one of these before a Type A Unichip popped up on this forum cheap....
From memory kaveman had his installed and tuned somewhere in Melbourne for $1200 (that included the price of the unit itself.)
It might have more features, but will you be able to utilise those features? Are those feature are just bunch of marketing? I would speak to a good e-manage tuner & ask if the Ultimate really worth the extra $410 (Box only) for your setup.

Bloody hell its all to hard ! Unichip, Greddy, Perfectpower .... Im sure there are a few more on the list i can add, im never going to beable to decide haha
Honestly i would go for Powerperfect SMT6, as i've heard lots of good things about them from different forums.
Unichip is ok, but i had some bad experience with the tuner, so that turn me off.
E-manage, had anyone ever wonder why there are so many of these on the 2nd hand market? If its that good then why ppl sell it or use something else. Its not like a SAFC, where most ppl will start off with it, & then upgrade it to a piggyback cause its the most basic tuning unit.
I know you can get SMT6 installed & tune from AVO in Melb.

SMT 7 is the newer model, has more map points & features. The SMT6 should be plenty for FTO needs. They ran a christmas special to try & move the last of the 6's but I understand they have a few left. Be good price too...
Sure they dont have an Installer in Adelaide? The shop they reffered me to here in Syd was Autotech performance of something in Marrackville. Ie purely an authorised installer, not a Perfect Power shop as such. I also had to email the guy at Perfect Power to get that info.
Cat Back exhaust
CAI
Manifold/TB with insulating spacers
FPR
Spark plugs
ECU
After that theres only really internals left where thats big $$ territory...
Looked into the whole forged pistons thing and got a quote of around $3600. Do you really think it would make that much differance and does the $$$ compinsate for the gains ?? the bang for buck ?
