It would be interesting to look at the chassis profiles. I'd have to do some research.

I mean it would just make life heaps easier considering the drivetrain, gearbox and 6A13 engine all match together.

It's alright Kev I was only joking. I'll have to get your mate Lee to help me instead......hehehe

it's amazing what the search button does... after months on here i've finally figured out how to use the search thingo properly lol

as some of you guys might have read from one of the threads that i've hijacked, i'm still holding on to my dream of evo with fto looks (mates been telling me that i'm an idiot for wanting to waste the $$, but i really really want a good AWD in the next 5yrs, and i cant stand the looks of lancers/wrx/skylines etc).

um... would it be easier to drop an evo into an fto or drop a fto shell on top of an evo?

i'm leaning toward the dropping an evo into an fto, if nothing else it'll be cheaper to dig up a wrecked evo then it is to buy a straight evo...

any inputs...

btw does anyone know how the evo VII's semi-automatic perform (has anyone actually driven one? is there much power loss etc)?

i'm gonna save for a couple of years for this (unless a distant relative that i dont kow about dies and leaves me a crap load of $$ lol), so in the mean time i'm going to do the research... and who knows i might even be able to afford an evo VII or evo VIII to gut.

How about these?

http://www.lilevo.com Mirage + 4G63T + AWD Talon

1.6L 4G92 engine from the AWD Mirage (Jap import)

http://www.tufcars.com.au/tufmirage_specs.html This is the one I was looking for, built by Tufcars in Melb. It's a Mirage with a full 4G63 (Evo 7) driveline conversion, stroked out to 2.4L. If you contact them they would be able to give you some approximate costs...

and any other comments that u'd like to make about the car's performance. :D

It goes pretty hard actually, no real changing gear lag and its only 6 flywheel kw difference to the GSR from stock.

It has a INVECS 5 speed gearbox tip like the FTO also can change gears via the steering wheel like the R34 and seems to handle well, im getting a shitload of mods put on soon aswell as a retune, estimated power should be around the 200kw range at all four wheels (fingers crossed) so that should test the gearbox...

I wanted a AWD fto ages ago and seriously looked into it, to be honest i dont think it would be worth the money it would cost to do it. I mean for the money u invest u could have a fully loaded EVO XI. But i guess if u are a one eyed FTO driver its your only option.

If you want a wrecked evo here a link to an auction for an evo XI

well it's not that I'm THAT obsessed with FTOs, but it's just the fact that I cant find an AWD that appeals to me in the looks department.

WRX - it's like a clit, every c*&t has one
GTR - I HATE SKYLINES skyline
EVO - I really like the performance figures of the later evos, but the lancer look... no thanks (it's partually to do with ppl putting the evo kits on crap lancers)
Eclipse - not my cup of tea
GTO - getting old now

i'm just picky lol

GTiR - I hate pulsars
RVR - it looks like a FWD
Aristo Zi - um... lexus? sry i live in sunnybank (asian central in bris) with means every one that drives a lexus either cant drive or stuck up, i'm a little bitch and dont want the stereo type that comes with it.
GT-4 - celica... maybe actually now u mentioned it, I was going to get one before actually lol, they r as rare as duck tooth arent they? unfortunately that shape is the worst shape for the celicas IMO
Edited: Stagae 260RS - too big lol

anymore to list?
....please dont, i already had to google image them lol

u know when u get an idea/dream in your head, if it's there for long enough, it's the only thing u'll see? every other option doesnt seem quite as right as your original idea? yeha this is how it's getting now for me lol. i think this should be counted as an obsession now lol

did u mean Stagea??? If so thats an all wheel drive Turbo Nissan Wagon... basically a skyline in disguise... they can be ball tearingly quick... but look like a family wagon... hahaha

Yeah its the stagea, but i'm refering to the 260RS, look way meaner then the stock and run on RB26DETT instead of RB25DET.

You can laught at it here, but when you get your FTO eaten up by a "mum's trolly", the face would be priceless  :P

Ben's buddy at envy import got a R34 front conversion too, is the kind of sleeper i need when i go to Coles with my mrss

all of those cars are good. I agree with FTO388

You guys really need to get the FTO chip off your shoulder and realise there is more out there than a 95rwkw FTO...sure the FTO has a good shape but its not performance car

and I like performance in my car when i go for a real drive.

and yes...I will eat you alive on the roll, track, standing start...drift whatever you want buddy...u name it and my aparently ugly car will eat you in every way.

handling? hmm now my r33 handles better than my FTO which has a better setup thatn most of the memebrs here...

so keep holding onto the "looks" and look at yourself in the rear galss reflection of anyone driving the above cars..cos thats all u will see.
well, thats just the thing...
i dont doubt that any of the cars listed will eat an evo convertion especially if the same $$ was spent etc, but i'm not doing it for that. if i really wanted something stupidly fast then i'lll sell the fto and buy an old comm and use the balance for mods...
i do want a super super fast car, but i'll never/rarely take it to the tracks anyway, so kinda makes it pointless.
I want the AWD just cos i want one, for the handling but mostly because... why not lol... um... style? :?
this is just something to give me something to toy with for the next 5yrs, and more importantly something to aim to... it's the motivation for me to work right now lol

Personally I think 1 of every 100 ppl who talk about EVO conversions etc will actually follow through..its a standing joke in this forum. I don't discourage anyone from doing anything as I think the conversion would be great fun, but there comes a time when 200 threads and 3000 posts later you should start doing rather than talking sh*t.

I realise there are a lot of younger members and that you spent nearly all your cash buying your fto, I can't image 80% of the active memebrs being able to do anything like we discuss..
