Seriously, if those figures are correct, then the club should be looking for advertising revenue.

Get something like Google Adsense going and get the members to click on the links to increase the $$$ coming in.

This could pay for some of the clubs expenses and help to subsidise the cost of things like stickers etc.

the club gets free hosting of this site... if advertising was to go on the site it would have to go to cover the cost of hosting this site...

that aside have you seen how little revenue is generated by hosting ad's? this site would be lucky to get 100.00 over a year....

i'd rather keep it ad free

IF the web stats are correct, It would be much more than $100/year. IF those figures are accurate and IF they are human visitors, then the revenue from those adds should be over 10x that amount. And if you have pay-per-click advertising, the income for the club will be even higher, as we could ask the members to click on the advertisers links. The income should easily pay for the hosting with surplus to pay for club advertising or to subsidise the cost of shirts and stuff.

Geez, I don't think I've ever had to convince someone that they could get some cash before. Normally their eyes light up and just go grabbing at it.

There's multiple advertising streams the club could use, but I'll show just one.

Google doesn't publish their averages for their Adsense program, but if you follow the news and forums in this arena, it is generally accepted that the average click-through-rate (CTR) is 2% and the average payment-per-click is 5 cents.

Based on last years stats, IF they are correct, for human visitors, then it would be 1,482,309 x 2% x 0.05 = $1,482

This is in $US, in $AUS it works out closer to $2,000

I've done some work on a number of sites that use Google Adsense, the average CTR for those is around 5% and the average payment-per-click is around 10c. The 2% / 5 cent averages seem about right when you consider this is across all sorts of varying websites, but even if the club only earned half that, it would still be around $1,000 AUS and would help pay for expenses, advertising, shirts, stickers etc.

I'm not going to write any more messages about this, I shouldn't need to convince anyone when it comes to money.
