The reason why I used caliper paint is purely because thats what I had, and didnt want to spent more money, nothing to the with heat.
You can use any paint for this application as the pipe is facing the outside temperature.

If you ever have your front bumper off can u take pics of the intake pipe going to the pod, i have mine boxed but havent got a forced air intake pipe as yet as im not sure which way to go....

Barfy, if you check out DStocks thread about his CAI you can see how the original piping goes up towards the top of the radiator.

All you would need to do is remove this stock piping and run tubing down towards the ground. Boris has also done a DIY thread on this. In fact I'm willing to gather that with your VS front bar things will be significantly easier.

yeah thats all good, i wuda done the same... im just asking whether it would be a good idea to use engine paint because of its heat resistant factors.... bareing in mind u have to bake the paint after application

As far as I know, caliper paint is more heat absorbent then engine paint.
Never used engine paint before though.
And it wasnt saying anything on the can about baking the paint afterwards. Too lazy to do it anyways....

Just remembered now!
I did baked my battery clamp after painting with caliper paint.
It boubled up, obviously didnt do it properly.

Ok i looked at boris's DIY piping although im thinking it will restrict the radiatior of to much air.... Just the other thing im thinking about is the hose that goes into the box itself is that easy to replace and to attach to the stock piping ??

What im thinking of doing is what bucket said but need to know about the piping that comes into the box ...

Leave the existing piping from the box through the chassis where it is.

Just rip off the plastic crap that attaches to the end and place your own tubing on there. Run it to the front bar and secure it somehow to your VS bar.
