From what I have learned the ARC one is the only box type intake (certainly the only one I have found). You do not need a pod with it, the filter is a part of the box. I Think I have most of the different intakes available listed on the link below. Unfortunatley I cannot tell you for most if there are local suppliers or whether they are legal in the form they are supplied in.

unifilter is an oil filter
apexi filter are legal...although I think pods are meant to be enclosed in a box.
You can get a custom airbox made too. Jaws performance who made slithers in melbourne. Looks unreal from the pics I saw. but probably as expensive as the ARC model.

I just had a look and the ARC not as much as you might think. The site below has an NSW address. If you use their currency converter on the prices.....

Yep, but, these do not need a pod (Its an alternative). If you dont have a pod, this is the whole setup (including filter).
But then maybe you knew this already....

sorry dstocks I was replying to shue not you....
he wanted Jaws to make him an airbox and all i was saying is that is the most expenise bit to make... I think Jaws would still cost a similar price to importing an ARC airbox.
OK

Any oiled filter is illegal in Vic, pod filters are somewhat of a grey area. Some cops say it should be enclosed some say it doesn't have to be. In all honesty though i don't see why you'd bother with a pod filter unless you were creating some sort of heat shield for it.
As for Juzzy's pricing, i'll give him a call some time this week and see if i can organise a deal for you guys. Can't promise anything but it's worth a try.

Yeh that would be good. My ARC intake pipe should arrive this week but would still be keen on
