K&N pod filter hides under the head shield with 4" Snorkel piping feeding it with cold air from the front bumper 8)

I would love something like ethans - looks great. Was just very expensive - bout the same price as an ARC induction pipe and airbox.

In regards to topstage, I didnt want to get an airbox done until air intake is replaced incase its not a tight fit. Still not 100% convinced how good the topstage boxes are..

if money wasn't an issue would definately copy Ethans setup.

wasnt quite a grand - but still pricey. But I still think there is a huge difference between UAS and the one Ethan has. Firstly ethans is made out of aluminium which is apparently quite hard to work with, secondly I think it is a complete airbox where as UAS is more of a glorified heatshield then a airbox.

ethan - is the air intake pipe 3inch all the way, or does it flare out to 4inch like the OEM setup?

The CAI setup i have is made entirely of aluminum. Euro is right, it is harder to work with.

The best beniefit of using aluminium is that it insulates the intake. Because it's a fully enclosed heat shield that means that i don't have issues with heatsoak from the engine and insures that the air being delivered to the engine is the lowest possible temp it can be. Benefits of that is as we know colder air is denser! Air is delivered to the filter via a 4" snorkel pipe that fits behind the front grill of my VS bumper. It is invisiable to the naked eye

The intake pipe between filter and engine is 3" but flares to a 4" opening as i have a bigger K&N pod filter.

I might just get the pipe made up for now... biggest problem is leaving my car in lilydale and then getting back to work! do they do any work on saturdays ethan? I would like the idea of it flaring from 3 to 4inch like the OEM setup does as then I would not have to change my apexi air filter.

do u think if i left an OEM intake pipe with them they could measure it up (so I dont have to leave my car there?)

With SL.. there's one thing about garages in springvale. everyone talks bad about everyone else and to me everyone there is as dodgy as anything. I wouldn't trust SL or anyone in springvale with my cars ever again. I've had experiences with about 5 garages there and all 5 has shafted me, including one which i worked for (which was good friends with SL Motorsports Lee).

Currently i go to Nandi Autocare in Cheltenham . He's got the 2 main diagnostics machines, all necessary equipment to diagnose EFI problems and can recondition most electronics that can be reconditioned e.g. starter motors, distributors etc... and i've never had a complaint with any of my cars or any business i've passed on to him. Very competitive quotes, and is also an ISO certified garage. Has experience with most japanese and european cars, and is a very good tuner as well.
