Yeah, I remember this one. The Skyline does just, just beat the McLaren off the line, but only because of all the computer traction control etc, the McLaren doesn't have any launch control.

GTO for me, nothing will look better then a damn low car ... eg. ferrari, diablo etc all low car .. but it's a bit old now
Evo8, gotta be kidding with 50k but sure would be my first choice too if GTO not in good condition
GTR? i won't get 33 since 34 is much better with v-spec too, but cost twice to triple price ...
RX7 ... yeh baby if you find one, i find one absolutely perfect cond still cost 58k with done 30000kms
and again personally a more heavy car that accelerate fast like GTR & Evo does feel more safe

Yeah GTR32 definitely best buy, but the bad thing is no matter what bodkit u put on it, it still looks out dated!!! curse NISSAN!!! hahaha

If i was in your position, I would definatly be going with something that is newer then the FTO...
I'm not sure what EVO6/EVO7 sell 4 but that could be on my list, aswell as the RX7, but I would also consider a S15, and add like 15k's worth of mods onto it.
I would try and stay away from the R32, as it's getting to a stage where it's dam impossible to find one in good condition due to the age... and it's looks crap, and the interior is crap...
My 2 cents...

hahahahaha i agree with Boris, unless u can find a good condition on or else most of em are crap. But a GTR is still a GTR, alwez catches ppl attention :
Other cars:
RX7 - great car and looks but engine usually needs rebuild
GTO- great bult hard to find one in good condition
Supra - great choice too
2000 WRX - great too but too many ppl drivin it.
180sx - last 1996 model would be nice
S15 - looks great too

I've seen an NSX advertised for $49990 on carsales.com.au or trading post. Can't remember which.
But I doubt the condition of it would've been very well kept. Was still a good price though I thought.

All the cars you listed are definitely hot performers and will clear a quarter mile in the mid-high 13s to low 14s. I guess for you it really comes down to a matter of personal choice, and what each car feels like. Of course, for price, very few things can beat the japanese imports, so if you're looking for bang-for-buck you should be looking there - but if you own an FTO, I guess you already know that, don't you? Still, there are many other cars about which will do same speeds as the ones you mentioned (Pulsar GTI-R's with a 13.7s quarter mile). Though, if you want some really crazy speed, I've heard lots of stories about 350z's with TT kits.
In the end, its what you like. Personally? I'd choose something not many hi-po drivers have (skylines, silvias, and WRX's) - just make sure there's good aftermarket support for it!

Word! The Power Enterprise kit from Japan looks the part! But it works out to more than $10gs just for the kit alone. And I don't think the 2nd hand price of a 350Z has dropped significantly enough to justify putting one on it. But I'm sure some peeps have the means to!

get something different ! get a rotary.. haha. ive seen a few rx7 series 8 models for about 59k.. and they are kinda high maintenance. If not rx7 then id say s15.. then just pack it with a load of mods.. thats my two cents.

I would have to say a R33 GT-R, so much potential...it looks like a racer...with my friends we always have this conversation and ultimately the GT-R comes up on top.

i would have to say R33 GTR as well, even thou its more plump and bigger than all its brothers. why not supras and soarer TT? they also have a lot of protential.

The thing you have to remember about soarer TT's though is that the manuals are quite rare, and I'm not sure of the availability of a manual conversion for it...

my brothers got one of these, picked it up for 18g, pearl white, immaculate cond. inside and out. and is a manual. But had 110k's on the clock.
Just goto different importers and ask around.
Only thing is soarers are more for style as there quiet heavy. Supposed to only just break the 15 seconds for a 0-400

WRX + $4000 = 0-100 5sec.
$50K would be a brand new 2005 model.
I know there pretty common but if your after performance its hard to beat.
mmm I wonder what i just bought.
Another option is to build your own clubman.
check out:
http://www.prbaustralia.com.au/PRBcomposite.htm
How does 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds with up to 2G’s of braking sound?
People build these for less then 20K.
John.

If you want a car that isn't quite so common, looks classy, qtr mile in about 14 sec (stock), handles like a go cart, and revs like the FTO....
go buy a Honda s2000.
You should be able to pick up a 2000-2002 model used in good condition for about $50K. Mind you slight mods on these don't have quite the same effect. It is a good match for racing stock WRXs and 350Zs. Whack on a supercharger or turbo kit and you are ready to take on most things
Quickest qtr for an s2000 so far I have seen is 13.6sec
Oh and about the clubmans...there should be one running the s2000 engine in a week or two. 185Kw engine and bugger all weight
