So I started with this one, zipped tied to the bracket which made life easy...
It's further in away from where any water could end up, so I was decently happy with it...

The other side caused a little more issue, couldn't find anywhere decent to mount it so I ended up using the double sided adhesive that came with the kit..
I was pretty reluctant to because I expected it to be cheap crap, but it held very well against the plastic of the headlight..

I don't know if it'll be the driest of areas, but it is apparently waterproof... Next downpour will tell me I guess, lol
I'll likely move the other against the side of the headlight too if it goes ok. It's nice and hidden, out of the way.
I'll revisit the wiring down the line, if the globes keep running well. They're just zip tied in a messy bunch right now..

So far so good :thumright:

Too blue for my liking, but great work!

Too blue for my liking too..
I was hoping for (and ordered) something closer to white, but eh. With how much I paid, I half expected to end up with blue

Good thing bulbs are cheap, so can change them easily. 4300k or 5000k are what you are after for white.

You also might want to hide the drivers side ballast a bit better. Cops don't like aftermarket HID's

Tis the plan, just seeing how the 'waterproof' one I've buried near the light reacts when it rains..

Also I ordered 5000k :(

I placed mine below the headlights next to the horns:

oh.. guess it's too late to suggest a LED conversion instead?
As someone who has tried that... yeah, don't do that.

please do explain.
(I'm looking into doing it to the lotus right now, pretty much have to take half the car apart to get to where i need, so definitely don't want to do it twice)

I tried something like these: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pair-G2S-900 ... 1674842702

I couldn't get them to focus correctly.

were they bright enough though? or was the focus that bad you can't tell? :\

Just an update:

Already ran into issues with the kit I got. Might've been a one off dodgy kit, or the kits in general are crap...
Passenger side stopped working after ~5-6 uses of the headlights. I didn't bother checking if it was the globe or ballast..
The seller gave a refund fairly quick.

Here's the kit I got: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 1509275933

I've tracked down another kit that had some decent reviews, shall return with an update in the near future

Hopefully it's just the one off... :\
well... at least all the wiring is done... just need to plug the new kit in when you get it.

I guess alternatively, Autobarn apparently sells kits by Phillips. I've never looked into it myself though; but Phillips has a pretty good name in lights, and at least Autobarn has physical stores where you can abuse real live staff if you have problems with it.

That's it, lol.. and if I end up with a whiter light like I was hoping for, it all worked out for the better :P

Ok, found a new kit that was highly praised on a few other forums... The ballasts are chunky as, but I can overlook that if they work well..
The light isn't blue, either, which I'm happy with.

I'll grab some pics tonight when it gets darker.

I'll run them for awhile, and when I'm confident they're going to last.. I'll likely tuck them away similar to what you've done, Technikhaus :thumright:

If they don't work out, I can't recommend these enough:

Expensive, but really bright, and I've had 0 issues with them at all :)
