I walked in there and asked for the tool that tightens the metal zip tie things that go on boots.. Have since seen them at all the stores all the time..

You can do those metal stips up with a pair of needle nose plyers & a hammer, you don't need a special bloody tool.

But Toby did that and he got abused with every known explicit here sometime back?

I tried pulling the metal strips with pliers and holding the pin with a flat head... but since I don't have any vice grips, I was balancing the axle with my leg... The boot popped out when I pulled on it with bit of force after I used that method. So must not be tight enough. I also made the inside of the rubber area which is getting the strips on top of them didn't have any grease to make sure they don't slide out.

Btw, on one of the pics, your outer cv boot's small end is on top of the groove on the axle and clamped down...on the other one its little bit above the groove (you can see the groove on the axle) and clamped down.
Workshop manual says you should be able to see that first groove.

Oh and heating up the ABS ring with a blow torch makes installing it easy No snapped rings that way!
