Thanks for the input biffle.

I just got home from my interview with them and I'm starting in a few weeks. I have a lot of flexibility because I'm actually employed by the AGT so I can leave at any time and AGT will find me another job basically no questions asked. The dealership is very clean and large, they had probably around 15 hoists and they service 70+ cars per day. They have 3 cleaners as well so I won't have to clean much (his words not mine)

They even had a red RX7 on the hoist :cyclopsani:

The company seems pretty good to work for, only thing im skeptical about is that I'll just be doing repetitive oil changes and crap but eh, win some lose some hey.

And the Mazda name in your CV/Portfolio when you decide to start your own business.

Worked X years for Mazda Service Centre. That will add some weight marketing yourself.

Step son no#1 did his apprenticeship through AGT, although as a heavy diesel mechanic. His first day as a full timer he pulled $700 bucks. Little git almost beat me!

Hey Ben how did he find working through the AGT? Were they good to work for? Was the training program good? I'm doing my training through them rather than TAFE. But alternatively if I really want to I can do my training through Mazda's college thingo. Although I would rather do it through AGT I think, cover more types of things and more personal project type work.

Hmmm, maybe it wasn't AGT then. He spent 3 weeks a month on the job, 1 week a month actually at Tafe doing the text book thing... but they did all the job placement stuff for him. He started out at Mercedes trucks, ended up at Detroit Diesel.

Odd. May have been MTA or whatever the f**k it is.

AGT basically finds you a job, you do your training at their training facility thing one day a week (I think) and if you want to leave your job you can, no questions asked and they'll find you another one. Similarly though your employer can fire you more easily if you're a sh*t c**t

*fears*

Have only taken one sick day from work in 4 years... got hit in the ribs with a cricket ball at a first grade game for school, started coughing up blood

Valid excuse, I reckon.

Thanks guys :D

I went into the interview expecting to not take the job/not be offered it and I didn't really want to take it but I am getting more excited about it the more I think of it.
