I tied with a r33 gtst on the drag strip and in the street. Both were pretty much stock, but still so is my car

Yeah I'm also thinking about selling mine, I always get mighty jealous of new cars interior. So nice and fresh no scratches or rattles. Also a lot of cars feel disconnected from the steering as they are running a rubber rack spacer.

IMO this is a bad thing though. Jumped in the Lorax for the first time in a few weeks (have been driving the ute). Smiles all round....

Here is a piece of advice. Get someone to take you for a spin in their manual GPX/GPvR. You should notice quite a difference. Maybe that will give you the spark you are looking for.

I'm in the same boat. I'm looking at a wrx this week. I'm still keeping my fto just in case the wrx doesn't work out. In trying to get the wife to take one so they both stay in the family.

Mayby i will have to keep the FTO, just in case i lose that feeling then i can just sell the
other car and i wont have to worry about buying another Fto!

There really is no reason to sell it. It has only done 101000 kms, Last month did the 100k service,
Which cost me $1200 but at least it makes me feel secure in the car again!

I just really wanted a 6second car or faster, im sure i could probably mod the Fto to go quite fast,
but im guessing it would be an expensive adventure! Turbos just seem so much easier to get power out of them,
compared to NA tuning.

I was also looking at 350z's and 350gts. Big powerful V6's, aparently they are really fun to drive aswell!

Oh well, ill keep you updated if i do end up buying something else, and ill sell my Fto to 1 of you guys to keep it in the club!
Unless your desperate for the $3k to $5k that you would get for selling your FTO you might as well keep it as long as you can afford the insurance and rego then get yourself another car.

This is a fairly common question for all types of cars and it's all the same answer.....what are you looking for in a car? Daily, track, drag?

I'm just looking to have fun driving daily! I still enjoy my Fto heaps, love the sound and the way everything feels. Has been an awesome first car to drive, but i am now thinking of more powerful options. I wouldn't make the car for track or drag, atleast not to my knowledge now, who knows mayby ill enjoy modifying it and that could become an option. But for now, i just want to enjoy the drives to work and back and anything i do on the weekend. And i believe the feeling im looking for is inside a more powerful coupe!

Ill just have to test drive a few cars and see what i like.

If that's the case the FTO is a great daily....it's light, manoeverable, good on fuel even when hammering it and IMO I think the shape hasn't really aged. The reasons I've had mine for almost 13 years:

- Still turns a lot of heads.....hell even I still turn around to give it one more peek when I'm walking away from it

- The car is still reasonaby easy to work on. I used to complain about the tight space in the FTO engine bay but have you seen the new cars lately? What a headf*ck.....no space, everything requires special tools, star bolts....f*cken retarded

- The car hasn't become a computer yet  which means that you won't get a check engine light for the dumbest things like you would in new cars and have to take it to the dealer to read the error code.......and these days it could 60 things on a list of things that can be f*cked up when a warning light comes on

- Anyone with a spare parts car/s (especially Dwayne) have made a great contribution to everyone to make it a lot easier and affordable to find parts(while stocks last) at very reasonable prices. I mean where else can you buy a full transmission for a grey import for $100???

At the end of the day 150KW ain't that bad.....that's still more on tap that majority of the other cars on the road.

You posted some good points there Nacho!

Haha, i have to admit, even i look back sometimes to have another look and then i have a little smile on my face!

I'm lacking that extra 15-20 kW at the higher Revs though as mine is a GR.
Was thinking of putting a hairdryer inside as some of you have done,
But i figured i'm better off just buying a car with one in it already to save the hassle
and the extra $$$ id have to pay.
