Yes I am giving him negative feedback.
My response was:

"Thank you for reminding me of my role as a customer.
Please though, remind both yourself and myself as to your role as a seller.
Is it to deliberately mislead potential customers in an effort to obtain maximum profit regardless of how sound the advice is? Somehow I believe providing fair advice and a service with both good moral and business ethics should implement itself somewhere in your role as well. I see though you seem to strongly disagree with this almost idealistic theory."

And I received this patronizing response which has tipped me into leaving negative feedback:
"Hi there,

Thank you for your kind advice.
We will try to train our customer service team more thoroughly to improve on the customer service provided."

Well at least you tried spetz....more than the seller was willing to do.
We should all buy something worth $1 off of them and leave negative feedback.

I suggested paying the difference + postage and get the additional parts to that kit but they are unwilling to do so.

I've sent a message advising them about my intention of leaving negative feedback (my first time on eBay no less) as a last chance for them to try and rectify the problem somehow

The last 2 eBay auctions I have won and paid for from different sellers, both were for studio/disco lighting for my future music room, have ended up with an email from eBay loss prevention team 1 week later stating....

Quote "Thank you for your bid on the following listing: ......
However, eBay has had to remove the listing. All bids or offers have been cancelled. Also, we recommend that you consider carefully whether to complete this transaction.
We hope you understand that due to privacy reasons we're unable to discuss the details of why this listing was ended.
*Important*
We strongly recommend that you do not go ahead with the purchase however if you have already paid for this item but haven't received it, you need to act quickly to get your money back.
- Contact your bank to stop payment if you paid by cheque or bank deposit.
- Contact your credit card company if you paid by credit card.
- If you paid with PayPal, you may be eligible for up to $20,000 in PayPal Buyer Protection. To file a dispute go to the Resolution Centre in My eBay and click on I haven't received it yet or I received an item that does not match the seller's description
."

So I have had to file a dispute both times to get my money back

Thanks Phil,
Though I am not sure if eBay would rule in my favor if I file a dispute?

In the end of the day I got what I paid for, just that the seller should have advised me differently when I contacted him.
This doesn't seem like grounds for a dispute. Negative feedback is probably the most I can do

I ended up making some very reasonable counter proposals to the seller and he still denied (eg, wave the restocking fee).
So he was utterly unwilling to make any compromise even though he mislead me.
With that in mind I gave him negative feedback

Guys I left negative feedback for the seller, and now I noticed my feedback is no longer there.
What is going on? Can sellers get negative feedback taken off?
