On the basis of the Knight Rider FTO, I ended up seeing this thing in the flesh for a potential buyer, no longer interested.

Below is the review, not spell checked, and I'm not fixing the mistakes, so suck it.
Met up with the guy this afternoon. See the link below for pictures of the worst things I could find.

http://www.completervr.com/bfto/

Mechanically, the car drives ok.
The passenger side? driveshaft makes clicks on lock.
There was only 1 other noise I could hear. It sounds like tappets, however, the sound was only at the rear bank, and near the gearbox side.
Not really sure what could be causing the noise.
Wasn't severe, but it was noticeable.

The car has an oil leak from what I can determine to be the valve cover gaskets. Was a fair bit of oil under the car over the starter, and what not as can be seen in 1 shot.
Everything is there, bar the air intake box top cover.
The oils were a good color and were at level (however perhaps they were recently fresh, he reckons they were 10K old, which I couldn't swallow so easily...)
As the car was hot from being driven, I couldnt tell what the coolant was like from inside the filler neck, however the fluid in the resevoir, though a bit dirty was still mostly green.

Car glided through all gears with ease, no stickiness at all, clutch felt good and smooth.

The car did go all the way to 8000 without a problem, however there was no noise like you'd normally get after 5500rpm, the car was unusually quiet, despite the bigger muffler and tip on the rear.
Even at idle I couldn't hear the car like most others (very good exhaust system??)

The body.

Well, the body is what it is for a car being sold so cheap.
Headlight, parkers/ fogs and tail lights would all need to be changed.
Headlight seals are gone (that's moisture in the pictures, not simply the required Aza treatment being needed) tail lights have been spray painted over extremely poorly, add to that the odd chip missing from around the edges.
The fog light covers are shot to pieces.

The front bumper has had a scuff, does not sit properly, has the odd crease over it which has 'stared' the paint.
Rattle can used on the rear bumper under the FTO symbol, rear bumper has been pushed against something and is not resting properly.
No major scrapes or dents, just tired paint with the odd scratch or scuff.
The roof has a tiny amount of rust, small compared to the ordinary amount, none on the rear half, just passenger side front.

A/C is shot, he commented the actual compressor is the fault, driving the car it fogged up like a prat, and would not demist.
Rear parcel tray missing, a bit of fibro covered in black carpet with 2 6" speakers are mounted.
Interior is fair, center console broken as you knew.
The drivers seat under the seat belt plastic holder, the material has peeled away slightly, so exposing the foam a bit, seat belt holders are cracked, though not overly badly.
Seat belts would not retract.
Current owner is a smoker, was a considerable amount of ash on the carpet, however no apparent smell, and roof lining is reasonably clean.

Mentioned the sump was impacted at one point. Couldn't see anything wrong with the sump, however the car is incredibly low, so sticking both my head down and taking a picture was impossible. No apparent noises and nothing visually disturbing, looked to be a clean sump, so perhaps a replacement...

Suspension is low, therefore stiff, however not so stiff that its back breaking, I find our is slightly harsher for a ride than this was, the 16" tyre wall probably helped.

Tyres are good, however cheapo Bob Jane numbers, found it easy to spin the tyres, however I find all FTOs are easy to spin no matter the tyres.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm, not really much else, if theres anything else you want to know just ask, I went over 90% of the car, however it did start to rain, so rushed the more finer details.
Didn't look inside the boot, it's a boot and the bootlid matched the paint perfectly to the rest of the car, so I doubt there's damage.

In the end.

Body: 5/10
Engine: 5/10 (only because of leak, tapping sound, and not being able to inspect sump further)
Interior: 6/10

Basing these ratings on a daily driver only.
If it were to be a shower or an "I want it to look good" ratings would be lower.
In the end, if the car could be bought cheaper, and given some TLC, it would be a decent car in my mind.
Having said that, spend a bit more elsewhere, and save yourself the hassle of fixing it.... needs must.

EDIT: I neglected to add that when I turned the car off and started it up, the revs jumped to 3K and slowly dropped down, never seen an FTO go that high on warm turn over, ours sits on 2K and slides to 800 after a minute of warm up from cold...
