Won't be for a while yet.
First day/night in the house. Quite a bit to do.
Not taking all that space for the g-shop.
Need to calculate it out.
But more than welcome to visit when done

Well if you need a hand with anything, just give me a buzz.

Might do so.
Once we replace the bbq trays, will give the locals a holler for some help and reward with a feed.

Nice. Where-abouts?
Would have changed quite a bit since.
Meanwhile, just doing some furniture sketch outs.

LOL love the 'furniture' placement.
Born in Newcastle and lived in Denman until I was 14. And I figure, once a sh*t-hole, always a sh*t-hole

Having issues designing the garage.
The problem being that despite the amount of available space I originally thought which was 11x9, it's actually 11x7
Add to that you have to get the cars in and out, so need to incorporate a driveway.
Designing with the minimal amount of impact to the backyard also, I've designed the 3 below, but it leaves little to no room for an actual work area.
The hoist will fit regardless with 1m gaps around the cars in all directions.
The available space has a tiny bit of give, but I wouldn't be going beyond a meter of 12x8...
any other ideas people can think of?
Double level isn't an option.

A pit instead of hoist

The amount of work and certification required to make a pit is definitely not worth the effort, and considering he would save maybe a meter if that for the thousands spent...
I think probably the best way to go would be a big rectangle, but if you can face as much length as you can towards the direction of the driveway - ahh kind of like a garage. With 11m (if you can face it that way) you can fit 4 cars (one on a hoist) in front, with several metres up the back of the garage all length ways and not have to worry about playing tetris getting cars in and out - theyll just drive straight out, and all the space at the front is right in front of the cars, and would still be 4/5 x 11metres
like your first picture there, with you driving in from the bottom of the page.

Looked in to that ages ago.
Not entirely legal, so had to be a hoist.
Also, harder to do suspension work with a pit.
Besides, it's not the hoist/ pit that's the issue, it's the size.

The garages aren't all around the correct way, the below image is a snippet of the land and where the available space is.
Red is the major outline of space.
Green is where a row of trees are, with 1 rather wide trunked tree which could cause havoc, so leaving that bare.
Blue is possible expansion space for driveway.
The 'd' shaped design can be pushed further back, heading further away from the 'DW' (driveway) and into the trees seen in shot, but don't really want to go that route...

I got quoted on a pit once, f@#king expensive. Fully reinforced concrete & rheo hole to go with having the whole house's floating slab pinned. Was a 5 figure job.

Yeah, the extra work also to construct the pit is absurd.
Cheaper to lay a thicker slab and buy a hoist.

Nice easy way to get a bigger garage.
